Adidasper

been waiting for this one for so long man

Samuel Rosén

My second fav album of them behind Abbey Road

Cody

I feel like the Magical Mystery Tour movie is only worth watching if you're all in on the Beatles. I could totally understand how you'd be burnt out from them after going through their whole catalog and the Anthology doc lol

Adidasper

you gotta check out the video of I am the Walrus

Another great video bro. A few things, Magical Mystery Tour was a movie yes I dont think its worth watching it wasnt that good but that movie along with the singles prior with Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane created some of the greatest music videos ever at a time where doing music videos wasnt a thing, they popularized it and those are on youtube. Blue Jay Way is one of their best songs ever. Its does have a dark vibe but George wrote it while he was visiting LA on the 1st of August, 1967 at the height of the hippy movement. He rented a house on Blue Jay Way and it had an organ inside and while he was waiting for his friend and Beatles publicist Derek Taylor who was running a bit late so he wrote a song about it. Great tune surprised you didnt like it. Now Strawberry Fields Forever, easily one of the greatest songs ever created , so ahead of its time as John often was. The technical aspect to how that song was created is insane let along the psychedelic lyrics and vibe of the whole thing. I'd argue its the best song ever created, thats how much it means to me. To think a song released in 1967 sounds like that is wild. What a tune!!!

As for whats up next, the White Album. there is a 2018 mix listen to that one. Then is Yellow Submarine but you only have to listen to 4 songs on that everything else you can leave it considering you already heard "Yellow Submarine" and "All You Need Is Love" and the George Martin stuff is for the movie no need to listen to it. Completely ignore it. The only songs to listen to on that one is "Only A Northern Song" "All Together Now" "Hey Bulldog" and "It's All Too Much" honestly dont even need to dedicate a whole week to that album cuz just throw it out as an extra or something since its only 4 songs. After that it is Let It Be which there is a 2021 mix for, definitely use that. Then finally Abbey Road which there is a 2019 mix for as well. Almost done bro lol. Beatles 4ever!

It’s so cool getting to see you hear this music for the first time. I was born in the 80’s and I have no idea where it comes from, but when you’re British it feels like you’re born knowing this music. So excited for your reactions to the next few albums!!

SuperPony

Before I watch, I’m just gonna say if Strawberry Fields isn’t in S we’re gonna have a problem lol

Another one down! To me this feels like the closest you've ever come to matching your opinion to where people in general are at with this album, as long as you swap Your Mother Should Know and Penny Lane. The White Album is a 30 song beast of a double album so I'm looking forward to a 2.5 hour reaction for that one! Yellow Submarine is an odd one. It's a soundtrack album to an animated movie based on the song. It's not really considered a full Beatles album due to a lot of the tracks being either repeats from other records or instrumental OST tracks for the movie. It does feature 4 genuine Beatles songs that were never released on any other album. I would recommend either adding them to when you react to Disc 2 of Past Masters or just as bonus content Patreon/streams. The new songs off Yellow Submarine are: Only a Northern Song All Together Now Hey Bulldog It's All Too much

John Doe

"You let your what down?" 🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

flyingscotsman_a3

Can't wait for the white album, I personally think this is another quite big change in sound as we start to move towards "late Beatles" The white album is a double album, so that's 30 songs on 2 different discs for you to listen to. I suppose you could do them separately, but honestly it would be better off as a 1 long reaction.

Piano is Paul.

Dan Hartzog

Those four songs definitely need to be heard. It's All Too Much and Hey Bulldog in particular are classics. Maybe hit those four songs along with Let it Be.

The Music Guy

Yellow submarine is worth a check out. The whole second side of the album is jsut orchestral/ soundtrack for the movie “yellow submarine” but the first half has some new songs so it’s worth a check out but not required

lee

I walk along penny lane every day to work 😊

jerrun holt

Blue jay way is like watching a horror movie, and then mother should know is like watching a disney movie right after so you dont get nightmares

The next album the white album does away with some of the indian influences. Theres still some crazy ass songs (you are not ready for revolution 9. You might think you are and you know what to expect, but you have no idea) but the whole album has a more classic rock vibe, and the same is true for abbey road and let it be

Keenan716

absolutely. It's All Too Much is one of my favorites and it might be my favorite George song.

Derek Dugan

I’ve been waiting for Revolution 9.

Derek Dugan

Or maybe those four with Past Masters 2 (late era singles)

The Taker

Since you’re exploring The Beatles, you should definitely check out The Beach Boys, especially their album Pet Sounds. Considered one of the most revolutionary albums ever, it was partly a response to The Beatles’ Rubber Soul. The Beatles themselves were so inspired that they responded with Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, sparking a famous creative rivalry that pushed both bands to innovate in songwriting and studio production.

Ritchie Lamond

You might want to consider splitting the White Album over 2 sessions for your own sanity. It’s a great double album but it covers a lot of ground.

John Doe

hell nah he better do it in one video bro

Daniela Villegas

They met the Maharishi in London a year later they went to India and a lot of the white album was written there. Harrison was already into Indian music/ instruments but he deff was way into the India trip more than the others. One of my faves is fool on the hill and they wrote it about the Maharishi basically this wise guy and everyone takes him for a fool but theen the Maharishi was accused of sa so Lennon wrote the diss track sexy Sadie about him lol.

Patti Crichton

SAGE SHOULD listen to the new songs that are in the "YELLOW SUBMARINE" animated movie, they are GREAT SONGS, and he should NOT SKIP them.

Patti Crichton

I don't know why he should feel "burnt out" from going through their catalogue. I have been listening to the Beatles music just about every day since 1964 and I don't feel burned out, and I never tire of listening to their music or get bored with it. It actually helps me get through the day, especially now with all the aches and pains I have. Listening to their music or rewatching their movie, or documentaries, concerts, videos, etc. really does help those aches and pains and relieves me of them for awhile, better than taking pills or medicine.

Patti Crichton

*** SAGE *** You SHOULD give "MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR" a look, it's only about an hour, it was made for TV originally, so you could see the Beatles in white Tuxedos in the video for this song , plus see what is going on during "The Fool On the Hill, "Blue Jay Way," and ESPECIALLY for "I Am The Walrus" Great visuals in "MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR" which has really become a cult classic over the years. HAVE you CONSIDERED doing a reaction to their first 2 theatrical release movies, "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT" from 1964 and then "HELP!" from 1965? They are both fun and it will show you some of their personalities .

Patti Crichton

John is saying "CRANBERRY SAUCE" with his voice slowed down a bit, at the end of "Strawberry Fields"
