I love suck it and see

This album is all vibes and no tunes. You can tell that Alex Turner is really reaching for something, but he just does not have a single catchy chorus in him for this record. It's kind of similar to the latter half of Oasis in that way, the symptoms of creative burnout and boredom with your niche whilst not knowing how to break out of it.

love this album, far more enjoyable i find than the 2 before this, but its also still got some flaws, also the title doesnt mean suckin dong, its just a phrase, well maybe intended as a double entendre

J

also if you dont like it when he tries to sing then you might as well not bother with anything at all after this album

Johan

In the UK “Suck it and See” basically means try it and see. Basically saying don’t judge something before you try it, which yeah it doesn’t really translate well to American audiences. A Marr-ish riff is referencing Johnny Marr the guitarist of The Smiths. As you can probably tell they were one of the most influential bands in the UK. I’d suggest you listen to the Submarine album from Alex Turner. It’s short but it’s such a solid album and many people love it. And yeah the movie’s really great, it’s my favorite film. Alex Turner -Submarine (2010)

wym? I love his voice lol it was just a couple songs where it didn't hit for me on here

Sage is Typing...

Ahhh that makes sense. Also the Marr thing! I get why it's referenced so much now

Basically most the songs after this he sounds completely different

Although I think this is the worst AM album I still think it’s an 8-9/10. A symptom of how good the other albums are maybe. Also - the submarine soundtrack is unbelievable you should 100% check it out

Would be good to see your reaction to Humbug for sure even if the footage isn't amazing
