you should skip pablo honey and go straight to The Smile, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood is in that band and they got 3 albums out already!

The opening of glass eyes is what use on loop as my alarm in the morning, its bliss

A Moon Shaped Pool being laid back and having less energy is probably because Thom has just been recently divorced when they recorded the album, and Nigel Godrich's (Radiohead's long-term producer) father passed away when they recorded a moon shaped pool

Also hard for him to talk about during the tour, since Rachel Owen came down with cancer after the split and died shortly after this album came out.

True Love Waits was an old old song by this point -- two decades old. They really scrubbed it down to its bones for this one.

Like most Radiohead albums for me, this one requires multiple listens to truly appreciate it's beauty. It's so incredibly sad and personal, especially when viewed in the context of Thom's divorce and his ex wife's subsequent death. There is a feeling of quiet acceptance and maturity. I love the strings and orchestral elements, Johnny was in the thick of his film composing career, so there is an undeniably cinematic quality to many of the arrangements. Please listen to 'Spectre' which was the Bond theme that Radiohead recorded during the AMSP period, that wasn't eventually used. Even better, listen to it synced to the opening sequence of the film (on YouTube), it's honestly so perfect. Also, I'm a simple gal and love listening to Thom's voice with just a piano/acoustic guitar. Some of my recs: Thom's solo performance of The Clock (on Jools Holland), Ingenue (on Jonathan Ross), and his series at the Electric Lady Studios, including his soundtrack work for the film Suspiria. And because it needs to be said again, the King of Limbs from the Basement!

Yeah the version from 2001 on I Might Be Wrong is an acoustic version and is in my opinion a lot better and more emotional

David Coppinger

Hilarious that decks dark and the numbers were misses, probably the best two once you've listened several times

I don’t know man. I come back to this album occasionally, but it is my least favourite of theirs (after PH) I prefer the original True love waits too. If you were to do anything else, I would recommend the OK computer era B-sides, which were together on the OK not Ok record. There’s also the In rainbows 2nd disc

Danny Rockett

You should definitely react to i might be wrong, especially for the acoustic version of true love waits

Also this album is right after thom and his wife divorced and the death of his wife so that's why its so kinda slow

Ttgreeny

Why does this keep freezing for me😥

Bleep Blap Bloop

this album is for those late night hours and definitely their most beautiful. easy on the ears but heavy on the heart. sad fact thom divorced his wife around this time and just a few months after the albums release she passed away from cancer

Joe elliott

Ful stop live is amazing

Giyon

Present Tense is probably my favourite radiohead song together with Ill Wind

Derrick Kitzman

Vocal performances are intentionally reserved. Album recorded after Thom's divorce and she later went on to die from cancer. Also the end of Daydreaming, Thom is saying "Half of my life" as he was with his partner for half his life at that time. I love this album but I get super emotional by the time True Love Waits hits. Its a very sad record but lovely all the way through.

Monkey Ninja

You listened to true love waits before in a spin the wheel, it was the acoustic version that had synths

Diego Peña

This is why I started following you, you have your own opinions and I totally respect that. This is one my favs Radiohead albums, but again it took some listens to truly appreciate it.
