A few samples, most notably on Sour Times and the strings on Glory Box, but more interesting is that they mostly wrote and recorded their own samples, cut them to vinyl, scratched them up, then sampled them. The vast majority of the instrumentation is the band, including drums and guitars.

This is probably one of my favorite reactions from you, especially with Roads and Glory Box lol If you liked this, DEFINITELY check out their other two albums. Their self titled is more similar to Dummy, but it has more of that griminess/creepiness that you liked on this album. Third leans much more into experimental rock, but it contains some of the best songs from Portishead, including my favorite song from them (The Rip). Also more music video reactions please!

So excited for you to hear mezzanine, absolutely peak of the genre Dummy comes from even though it’s definitely different. Super dark I’m definitely interested to hear your thoughts on it
