Jugband blues was the last song Syd Barrett wrote and sang for the band and has very interesting lyrics on his self awareness of his mental decline

The Music Guy

great reaction! This was the only pink floyd album to contain all five members as syd departed during these sessions and was replaced by dave gilmour. The final song on this album Jugand Blues was one of the final songs syd wrote for the band and it refrences his mental decline and sounds like a mental breakdown in itself. its quite a sad one. just shows what drugs can do to you. I would say you could do more and ummagumma aswell just for completion and there are some good tracks on those albums but they are also quite experimental because the band didnt know what sound to do after syd left.

don’t do ummagumma and more sage, you’ve put up with enough, unless you’re feeling really completionist, but there are no true ummagumma or more fans

chewiehedwig

also don’t sweat not liking this album, listening to their early stuff is more so so you can appreciate how damn good their later stuff was and see where they came from

coolmanreebro

jugband blues highkey the best pink floyd song in my opinion

Before you go back to the post Wish You Were Here albums you should definitely check out live at Pompeii, it's early Pink Floyd at their best.
