haha watching through all of this wondering if you were gunna mention the fact you say you preferred disk 1 but disk 2 has been rated better here, you're right though they both stand up well on their own, fortunately for rhcp fans it was a double album as we got nothing for 5 years and a new guitarist, 5 years is a long break for a band just hitting their peak (granted, the peak was after 20 odd years)

Purple Zeppelin

Great videos! Glad you liked it. I played the hell out of these songs as Flea gave us such good riffs here. Also the drummer is actually Will Ferrell. But for the band he does an alter-ego that goes by the name of Chad Smith.

Josh

I feel like you would like The Empyrean by John Frusciante if you like his vocals and more experimental side

Rooks Baxter

Fun fact: my wife used the instrumental from Desecration Smile as her wedding march down the aisle and her bridesmaids walked down to the instrumental from If

Matthew Dickin

I love how much thought John Frusciante put into his backing vocals on this record. His guitar playing and sounds are exceptional throughout this album, but his vocals are just another level, both in terms of performance and in the writing of the parts. Tough being Anthony Keidis, when you're not even the best vocalist in RHCP...

Now you can do the same thing that every RHCP fan does and make your own "perfect" version of the album with your 14 favorite tracks 😁 There are making-of videos for the music video shoots of Dani California, Tell Me baby and Hump-de-Bump. They could be good bonus material or perhaps something to watch on stream since they show the band having a lot of fun at the shoots as well as further explain the meaning of the videos themselves.

Kiwilainen

I am a bit curious as to how he would feel about the Josh era. I could potentially see him enjoying it more than the average RHCP fan

Luke Pettit

You gotta keep goin with RHCP! Unpopular opinion but I honestly think The Getaway is their best work, especially for Anthony. I’m With You is a fun listen too, the bsides album for it is easily their most experimental stuff they’ve ever done.

By far my favourite album of theirs. Tbh maybe my favourite album ever but I'm biased af because of nostalgia. I've heard it all the way through so many times that I memorized every little guitar and bass part and can hum along to them beat by beat as they come lol. It's just so captivating and entertaining to me and I think it's because of the amout of layers and effects in the guitar and backing vocals. It makes it feel so rich and full. I love John's contributions most of all, I believe this is his absolute magnum opus as an artist. I love this band mainly because of the instrumental side, I'm not a huge fan of Anthony but I don't even mind him because it makes me focus further on the instrumental side. Even with that, I do love the vocal chemistry John and Anthony have when they harmonize, that shit sounds so sick to me. This album and Slane Castle (I will never stop bringing it up lol) are the peak of this band and I really believe you will enjoy that live performance. The atmosphere, emotions and performances are some of the best ever. If you thought that snippet of a live show was cool in the Snow video, you have no idea what's coming in Slane. I hope it happens soon, even if it consistantly gets cooked in the polls as per ush. (It seems to be doing all right now actually 🤞) The version of the band that played at Slane is just one year before they started working on this album, so it makes sense that it's them at peak powers.

Kate

Their musiv videos and live performances were always so fun. I hope you react to that Off The Map tour concert movie as well as live at Slane Castle. Rock AM Ring 2004 and also Fuji 2006 concerts are brilliant too ;)

Ollie

Really happy you liked it. Please keep the RHCP journey going. Definitely listen to The Getaway there are a lot of songs on there that sound amazing. But surely Slane Castle is up next 👀👀
