Hi! It’s time for an update on tulips theme! Let me show you how it’s going!

These bouquets are probably my favorites at this point!

I think these will make nice stickers but also could be turned into phone wallpapers!I’ll draw a few more vases. Maybe some with colorful flowers or a colorful vase, we’ll see!

The colors look wash out in this picture and it's blurry – it’s too cloudy outside! Yet another reason to be grateful for my scanner.

This page might be not my favorite.I think of it kind of as a warm up spread. The composition in the right side is quite nice so I might use it as a sticker or phone wallpaper.

I wish I’d used different shade of blue for the background but well, I can use Photoshop, so I’ll fix that :D

This one, this is nice! I like how colorful this page is.

The tulips look almost like candy!! Maybe I could do a bit better job at drawing flowers but in general I’m really pleased with this spread.

work in progess shot from a few hours ago! I wanted to fill the empty space with these red/orange tulips.

I think the left side might make a nice print!

What do you think?

It’s kind of a prototype :DIt's unedited, I didn't even remove the background so it looks super messy but I thought I'd share it!

The color swatches are a nice touch but should I keep them for a print?!

I’d need to think about that.If you have any thoughts, I’d love to hear them!

I even recorded a full coloring process of this particular illustration but I’m not sure if I’m going to upload it. Why is that?

Well, it’s been cloudy and the video is a bit too dark/grainy (or maybe it’s just my astigmatism?? lol).

Also, I tried to experiment a bit with camera angles and it didn’t end up well!

I moved the sketchbook a bit too much and the angle gets weird and video gets blurry for a few minutes (example below).

So yeah, I’m not quite sure if I can make something of these footage! If not, I’ll just record another video.

I want to make a few more tulips illustrations anyway and the weather cast says it’s going to be sunny tomorrow, so I’m hoping to get some recordings done!

a picture I took when I was almost done with coloring! (I added a few more details/outline after that)The situation on my desk! and I'm not done with this theme yet :D

I'd love to hear your feedback on potential phone wallpapers/print and on the video.

If you have any suggestions or any requests, I'd love to hear that too!

I think the light pink or the yellow in the vase would make the best print. I love the composition of the pink tulips especially.

Absolutely inspired by your tulips I created mine. Thank you so much! Because I am kind of clumsy with markers I took watercolours and before a water soluble pencil. The working process was so calming.

Oh the greens are gorgeous 😍 I'm new to markers - can I ask what sketchbooks you use with them? 🫣

muiri

thank you! I think now I’ll be using my new favorite green tone in EVERY illustration :D it works so well with lime green and other green shades! To answer your question: I use Royal talens art creation sketchbook! It’s not dedicated to markers though, so it’s not the best paper one could use for this technique but it’s been working amazing for me! If you want to be able to blend more smoothly, consider using a paper for markers. SMLTart brand has amazing bristol sketchbooks. There are also sketchbooks from Arteza and Ohuhu (I haven’t tried them personally) or just a classic layout paper, like Canson XL marker pad or W&N marker pad!♥

aww, thanks for the feedback!! ♥ At this point I made about 10 more illustrations like this, with even nicer composition! I’ll share them very soon. I’m not sure if it’d be possible to turn these bouquet illustrations into prints while keeping the quality – they’re quite small. I’ll make another big illustration for a print and if it won’t work, I’ll give a try to these vases! I can make one of them a mini bonus print or something like that! :D

muiri

oh, that's amazing!!! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your creative process!! ♥

muiri

yayy! thank you! ♥ I know, right?! Color swatches gives the rough look to the design and I’m just not sure if that’s what I’m aiming for when making prints! Maybe it’d be best to keep this idea for bonus prints/thank you cards for my future shop :D I use Adobe Rush for video editing! You’re right, it’s possible to make some color corrections (to some extent :D) but it wouldn’t fix the camera angle/blurriness, lol! Making a new video would be easier:D Oh, I don’t know! I always appreciate hearing your ideas but I don’t know what to do with that now :D At some point I might do something with all of my sketchbooks. Maybe make a zine out of my best illustrations from each?! There’s just too many possibilities, lol!

muiri

Yeah!! I'm going to finally open a shop this year! Hopefully this Spring! :>

I have been using the ohuhu marker pads for the illustrations and they work wonders!! Id say though I still need to practice adding un colored pencils and make it look the best

muiri

yayy! Thanks! Did you mean a coloring page printable or anything else?:>
