Hi!

Today I’m going to show you all of peony illustrations (+ sketches!) and some sketches/preview of this month’s theme.

I’ll be working hard on finish up May’s things and make June’s rewards on time. Let’s gooo!

Honestly I had quite hard time coming up with the theme for this month.

Everything is blooming now (yaaay!) and I don’t have anything specific that comes to mind when I think about June. Except, fruits!!!

Plus, I don’t have much time to reaaally think it through. But I’m thinking… berries?!

I spent a whole month drawing flowers, which was amazing, but the upcoming Summer just makes me wanna draw fresh fruits. Usually I just sketch some things and pick a theme based on what feels good but we're almost in a second half of the month, so I can't spend too much thinking, you know? :D

So far each theme was around just one plant.

This time I’m thinking of drawing gooseberries or combining a few summer berries: sweet cherries, gooseberries, red currant!

It’s just an idea and I don’t know yet if I’ll focus on just one of these berries or will create illustrations of all of them.

I'm gravitating towards drawing just gooseberries but I'm not sure if I could make a whole theme just around these one berries. I feel like I'm the only one who even likes these berries and well... I want to create things you'd like! :D

 I’d love to hear your feedback on that!

Today I was sketching some summer flowers and gooseberries.

 I also spent some time practicing drawing their leaves (more practice is still required!)

Now, let’s take a look at peonies!

About half of these scans are already edited, so I’m hoping to be done with this theme this weekend!

I figured it’d be nice to show illustrations alongside with the sketches.

Most of the time I draw everything directly in the sketchbook, so making a sketch vs illustration comparison is almost impossible (unless I scan the sketch first which I usually forget to do).

Some of them are 1:1 just colored version of the sketch, in some I made a few changes here and there. See for yourself!

 I must've made a sketch for the peonies in the bottom left corner on the separate sheet of paper. I couldn't find this page!

This one is going to be a print and probably also a coloring page (and definitely a phone wallpaper!)

I'd make a poll to ask for your opinion but it's already 14th and I need to make a quick decision. I think I'll just keep drawing and see what's enjoyable (and doable!). That's how I usually decide on the theme :D any feedback would be very much appreciated!
