Hi!!
How are you this Autumn?!
My plan for today was to print sticker sheets and prints all day but my printer just ran out of ink (again). I knew it’d happen sooner or later (was hoping it’d be later) so I ordered more ink and paper this weekend and now I’m just waiting for them to be delivered.
Soooo... now I can’t say that I don’t post cause I’m too busy catching up on shipping rewards.
I’ve spent the last few weeks really working on it, so hopefully soon you can enjoy your rewards being delivered on time!!
I haven’t even announced themes for the past 2 months! I’ll do it in the next post, with the announcement of November’s theme. I’m already working on sticker designs!!! Yayy.
What’s new? Honestly, a lot, but most importantly, I’m still working on a book and it’s going pretty well. On the more personal side of things, exactly one month ago I got married!! Wow, time flies?!!?!
I made my wedding dress from scratch. It was the first dress I’ve ever designed and sewed. I don’t know what I was thinking starting such huge important project with almost zero sewing experience and absolutely zero pattern drafting experience but it turned out amazing! I can’t even say it turned out as planned/expected because honestly my only expectation was to make a wearable dress and enjoy the process!
Anyway, enough about me, how are you?!!
I could spent all day updating you on things and sharing some thoughts and reflections on them but I believe you’re not here for that (or are you?!)
I'm forever grateful for all of you and for your support!!!
I haven’t posted in… a while, so…um, where do I begin?!
Okay, maybe with some illustrations for the book!!
This one, hellebore, is one of the projects in the book.
Which means I guide the reader through step-by-step of creating this illustration (and 10+ more of them :>)
The winter flower themed sketchbook spread I also made for the book!
I’ve written out step-by-step for this little holly illustration:
Another project aaand a big part of the back cover of the book!
In general the book is still work in progress, so I can’t share that much about it yet, mostly because I just don’t know what to say!
It’s coming together really nicely and we have weekly book meetings (by ‘we’ I mean me and the editor) but things are still changing. Hence I just share these illustrations here with almost zero context!
Of course I made more illustrations for the book and I might share them soon, but that’s enough for today!
Now let me show you some autumnal illustrations!!
I’ve made this sketchbook spread about a month ago (I believe?!?).
Which bouquet is your favorite? I love the sunflowers and chrysanthemums!
Would it even be autumn without the ginkgo leaves illustration?!
Okay, I said I wouldn’t share any themes now and I also said (or at least I thought?!) that I wouldn’t repeat themes on Patreon, but… October = pumpkins, right?!
So, here are some designs I made for last month’s theme!
It's not all of them but I’ll share more next time. I just couldn’t imagine the first Autumn post without any pumpkin illustration!!
And now, let’s finish with some sketches.
If you can recognize these flowers you already know what November’s theme is!
I have to sketch these on loose sheets of paper because I’m going to trace these designs later to the sketchbook. This flower has a lot of layers and details and I don’t feel confident in drawing it yet!
I feel like this post is all over the place, but I gotta start somewhere!
Otherwise I’d neverrrr get back on track.
Luckily I haven’t totally lost the creative spark these past few months. Or maybe I did a little bit. We’ll see!
The next post would be much easier to make (and for you to read), cause it’ll be an update on a week or two, not hundred and eight years.
It's so good to be here! Next posts will be a mix of sketchbook updates, phone wallpapers uploads and possibly some step by step posts (not book related!) :>
I wanted to make a video/tutorial on drawing pumpkins, but isn't it too late for that?!
PS. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I'm catching up on shipping all the previous rewards! I'm at the post office almost everyday, so if your rewards haven't arrived yet there's biiig chance they're already on their way to you!
Love,
Marta
