For anyone who hasn't been following the Tactics posts, here's the short version:
It's a tactical RPG. Grid battles, a cast of 18 girls, and a muscle growth mechanic wired into the progression system so your units physically change as they get stronger.
The game loop is basically: Story mission > Manage village > optional battles > Meet girls > Story battle.
Eight chapters are playable start to finish right now, with more landing in patches.
Importantly it isn't a Ren'Py game and definitely not RPG maker as some speculated. The whole engine is written from scratch in Python, which is why the Mac build took me as long as it did: there's no convenient "build for Mac" button when the game engine is authored for the game.
(Example: I had AI author for me a map drawing tool which is what I use to draw the maps and make enemy placements and set their loot, etc. I draw the map, then use AI renders the map underneath.)
Local video generation is also working now, which means cutscenes stopped being an expensive special occasion. The intro cutscene is in and more are coming. Got ideas for cut-scenes or moments you would like to see in game? Let me know!
How you can help!
The first 8 chapters gives you a good feeling of the game loop. But if you feel it needs more randomness, polish, hype, fmg, whatever let me know! If you have genuinely good ideas I want to pursue them to make it a game packed with detail and rewards for players who explore the systems.
So far you already suggested many Quality of Life improvements such as the Last Stand passive that the tankier melee units get, the arena for leveling up late comers, unarmed attacks when weapons break and much more which I have already implemented into the game.
The discord has a forum for StrongGirls Tactics for suggestions where it won't get lost and anything I act on will earn you credits in the game!

Base tier is $5 until September 30th, then $8 for anyone joining after. If you join before then you keep $5 permanently. That now gets you a 40+ hour visual novel and a full tactical RPG, with NSFW Friday joining on the 30th.
