This episode kind of bummed me out. I've dealt with depression and loneliness for most of my life. In the early days of the quarantine, some friends and I joked about suddenly having survival skills instead of interpersonal failings. I've been used to being alone, because I've done it for decades, but something about this process has been especially difficult. I like hearing how there are people in relationships finding ways to make it work in trying and unconventional situations, and I like that some people have flourished without the pressure of finding someone, but I'm just finding myself feeling more and more hopeless, which is weird, because climate change, the rise of global fascism, and the powerlessness that comes from knowing that everyone else seems to understand what's happening, but there's nothing anyone can do about it was already a pretty hopeless place, as starting points go. It feels really entitled to be this sad, lonely, and hopeless when other people are facing much worse. I've been making masks for friends and neighbors, and I gave blood last week (donate, if you can, they need it), but even that feels kind of arbitrary. I'm feeling a lot of guilt, too. Maybe it's just been a rough few days.

You should feel feelings. This is a crazy situation that no one could imagine. And it's incredible that you're doing what you can to help. We'll get through it, just one day at a time. - N
