I'm immunocompromised and got my Drs permission since I'm farther along in recovery for my brother and sister in law to visit!

I got a raise. With everything going on I was not expecting that

I have been celebrating every day. Everyday is pretty amazing because I'm alive. Very fortunate for that. I celebrate by embracing every day to its fullest that just trying to do my best in it. I know these are scary times. But I like to think my celebrating of every day boosts my mood which will in turn boosts other people's moods. I voluntarily done grocery shopping for the vulnerable populations so I see quite a few people every day. It has actually brought to my attention today that my cheery mood was infectious

My girlfriend and I met just before this whole thing started, I had already started staying at her place most nights, but when lockdown began, it just made sense for me to do it with her. I couldn't ask for a better person to be stuck in a 600sq ft apartment with. She and I get along better than I had every hoped and I'm really excited for our future!

Though the stimulus check doesn't mean a lot to many Americans it's been a major boon to my savings. I might be able to buy a newer and better car by next year

I successfully didn’t open up my space inventory...oh wait never mi*+|?\+¥]!•

i was accepted to an MFA poetry program with a full merit scholarship. My bf and i celebrated by deciding to in move together in the new city.

I'm taking my auditing final today, the last step before getting my accounting degree after 6.5 years!

My dad, who turned 79 this week, got the news that he is now cancer-free after battling leukaemia for 3 years! My sisters and I organized a three course meal from his favourite restaurant, along with wine, to be delivered to our parents house and joined them for a virtual celebration. It was the best day!

My wife and I have been strengthening our relationship and reconnecting. It's been wonderful

I started playing video games again after years of promising myself I would. I get a little bit of fun in a busy work schedule and murdering imaginary people is so much less toxic than twitter.

Maybe an odd thing yo celebrate but I got to facilitate one hell of a teen superhero tabletop roleplaying game session after too long of a break. My players were incredible. We had fights, investigations, a comfort that wasn't good enough, a kindness that helped, a base uncovered, a full hearted acceptance, a teammate quitting the team, a breakup, and the return of the big bad all in 3 hrs of play. As for celebration I just let myself enjoy the satisfaction of a good game and a chance to use my creative energy again. Having that outlet definitely helped me to start taking care of myself a better during this time too.

Finished my bachelor's, then got promoted with a fat raise, just got a job offer for a 60% more raise. Have been essential this whole time and still haven't gotten COVID, as far as I know. So things are going well.

I have a birthday next wednesday, so I will probably drink heavily. Actually, my wife's birthday was in April and I had 25+ friends and family record Happy Birthday videos and then edited them together into one, uploaded to YouTube, made her dinner and played it for her.

I graduated with a bachelors degree in food science!! Lots of chemistry and microbiology work, and it feels great to be done. I celebrated by getting really high and making burritos with homemade spiced tortillas.

My partner and me have decided to move in together after shelter in place is lifted!

My wife completed all the steps to officially change her name to Alice! We are not able to go get her a new drivers license yet because the DMV is closed but we had cake and did a happy dance.

The most exciting thing to happen to me is eradicating THREE diseases in one game of Pandemic with my roommate on a slightly more difficult setting than we normally play. It's not much, but you've got to enjoy the little things.

I signed up for an online piano course in January (there was a New Year's sale) and I had always intended to start in March but then the world stopped making sense and my life went off the rails. But last week I finally started and oh wowsers guess what I can play a passable "Cheese and Onions" and I celebrate this accomplishment by, well, playing "Cheese and Onions."

LoveYourFood

Nothing huge from here, though my YouTube channel is about to hit 2000 subscribers, which is big for us (we're just a small weekly recipe cooking channel). I also finally got motivated enough to order some enamel pins for a monthly furry event that I co-founded, and we're super excited to see those shiny pins come in. I celebrated by ordering some beer from a local microbrewery to be delivered to my place, and I'm going to drink some!

it was my partners birthday this week, so we spent the day down by the creek, on acid, with a few friends and our lorikeets and their cockatiels. lush-af. then we came home for gyōza soup and mud cake, and spent the night doing mindtrap riddles with everyone.

For my 11th anniversary my wife and I shot pool on our backyard table while listening to the Flaming Lips. I even let her win a few ;) Then we sat in our hammock drinking homemade daiquiris and looking at Venus which was really bright that week.

Grumpy Cucumber

We bought a bunny, significant achievement as it's my first pet (other than my girlfriend's dog) since moving to this city 8 years back. Since the lockdown is loosening here in Denmark I can also celebrate having guests over for the first time in months, just a few people for drinks and games.

When I finished all of my final papers for the semester, I went on a walk to my deserted campus and did a few cartwheels on a soccer field. I then noticed that there was a parked police car with a cop just watching me do cartwheels. Whatever, I had a good time and am now officially in my third year of grad school!

Forever Bulking

I helped a friend smash his pipe and throw his meth into the sea. We hugged and cried and put on our masks anytime other people walked nearby us.

Forever Bulking

I turned 30. We had a cake and pizza from my favourite restaurant. I never once believed I’d survive this long. I was so sure I’d have lost to my mental health stuff by now.

Things have gotten strange. I went from working two jobs, as a line cook at a high end restaurant and as a bartender, to being unemployed. I got laid off of both jobs on the same day. I spent St. Patrick's day drinking whiskey and filing for unemployment, not knowing if/ when I'd be able to buy food again. Fortunately I submitted my claim right before the website crashed under the load of the millions of other newly unemployed claimants. Since then things have changed drastically. I live in rural northern California, so there is kind of a of sense of close knit community around here. I reached out to my local mutual aid network to see how I could be of use. We've since built a coalition of community organizations to facilitate a multitude of responses to covid-19. We rented a community hall as a base of operations and food distribution hub. We've been using the commercial kitchen at the hall to cook hot meals to distribute to the unhoused folks in our community. Between 50-75 meals per day, every day, all with donated food and labor. It isn't much, but it's enough to guarantee at least one hot meal per day to every unsheltered person in town. We even set up an assistance request form online so that we can offer folks in need home delivery of hot meals, groceries, hygiene supplies and medical goods; all for free. With nearly all food service workers out of a job, there has been no shortage of capable volunteers to run a kitchen. We take every safety precaution to ensure our food and space is safe and sanitary. Long story short, I went from making just over minimum wage working my ass off as a line cook in the kitchen of an upscale restaurant serving wealthy patrons, to running my own kitchen with a team of skilled cooks to feed all the unhoused folks in my community every day for free, and (ironically?) I'm making more money from unemployment than I ever made selling my labor for minimum wage (Thank you, Bernie Sanders, RIP).

Me and my partner had our birthdays this week (we were born a few days appart). Our 12 year old son made sure we got something special on our respective birthday... He made me a delicious cake from scratch, without any help, and made a very funny PowerPoint presentation for his dad. This was very touching for both of us!

A few things: My husband and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary last Sunday, we are still working full time and things are going well, my teens are getting good grades where they are graded, I'm currently finishing up my last class with my animation students and they are turning in quality work in their final assignment, and I'm seeing lots of positive things happening in my industry, so I'm expecting some job offers on new animated shows fairly soon. I'm sewing masks for my family and friends because they asked for them: they are following the recommendations instead of being pig-headed about things. Lots of good stuff!

My wife was the recipient of the first uterus transplant on the east coast. In November she gave birth to our son, Benjamin, despite being told she would never be able to beat children when she was 17. Ben turned 6 months old yesterday. Penn Medicine put together a documentary on us. https://youtu.be/iqerkzGqx0I

My work thinks I'm good enough at work that I could move into a senior position. This is usually reserved for people who are engineers or comp sci. I've managed to keep my head above water with ba in technical writing and now I know I could actually become an engineer if I wanted to.

Sierra Coomer

Didn't get laid off, got a $1 raise, started Final Fantasy X on Xbox. I'm obsessed. I celebrated by spending my stimulus check on stupid stuff I normally wouldn't be able to afford.

My unemployment actually matches my income but my primary spend after bills was going out so while I have a case of cabin fever, I've been able to pay down debt and put money into savings. I have discovered I am also very capable of sourcing things from small independent businesses when I am properly pissed off at large corporations. I am also capable of reducing my use of single use packaging when I want to reduce the number the number of times I leave my apartment to go to throw out garbage. My parents, who are usually cold, distant, and incredibly stingy, have been checking in every week and gave me money to help with bills because they were concerned about my unemployment. (This is crazy huge for me. I usually don't hear from them for months at a time and they are usually completely disinterested in anything in my life. They didn't even attend my college graduation, which was on a Saturday, 20 min from thier house.) I also sold more art in the last month than I have in 2 years. It isn't very much money wise, but is a big confidence booster and is keeping me busy.

GloriousDawn92

Some good news is I'm still employed with regular hours. I've also learned my coworker that had been laid off is recieving unemployment 👍 also will be picked back up when normalcy resumes. While it is only me at my work i was allowed some vacation next month to spend time with my girlfriend.

My roommates birthdays have both happened during lockdown. We ended up playing jack box and video games with our friends over zoom.

I know this is old but I got the best news possible and I don’t have anyone to tell: in January my mom was diagnosed with a lung condition whose only treatment is a complete heart-lung transplant that she wasn’t a candidate for due to other health issues. Without treatment it’s a terminal disease with a life expectancy of 3 years maximum. She had a heart scan recently — she wanted to cancel because she’s terrified of getting COVID, but her doctor convinced her to get it done. A week later she got a call from the top specialist in North America on her condition who told her that in his opinion, SHE WAS MISDIAGNOSED. The condition she actually has is still serious and requires heart surgery, but it’s a surgery that is performed regularly and is quite safe. With treatment she will have a normal life expectancy. I’m 25 and I’ve spent the last six months trying to acclimate myself to the idea that I was gonna lose my mom in my mid-twenties. Now she’s gonna live to see me have children and get my doctorate. I’m so so happy.
