All four of WV's congressional candidates are Berniecrats, I've been specifically volunteering for Cathy Kunkel and intend to do so for Paula Swearengin as well

Angela Bullock

Abigail Spanberger is running for her second term as VA 7 representative. She flipped it from longtime red to blue, and has really done a good job of keeping up with her constituents and goes over the bills she's working on on her social media, and how it'll affect the 7th. I've donated, but idk if I can bring myself to volunteer quite yet. It's a scary prospect for me, even if it's only by phone (I don't do well putting myself out there)

Steve to the E

Brandon Scott running for Mayor of Baltimore. Baltimore has a rich history of terrible, awful, no-good, very bad mayors, and it's nice to see someone running who doesn't have a cloud of corruption following them everywhere, for once.

Scott Stephenson

Excited? Absolutely none. I'd volunteer to elect anyone blue at this point though. As disappointed in myself as I am. I guess that means Biden and Hickenlooper. Even typing it makes me want to brush my teeth.

Dr. DNA, PhD

Abby Broyles for Oklahoma's senate seat. She's running against Jim Inhofe (the guy who threw a snowball at Obama). She's about as progressive as Oklahoma's seen in a while and I'm doing what I can for volunteering and donations! Wrapping up a PhD leaves little free time, so I'm mostly contributing to the campaign and getting the voters I know on board for now.

Daniel

Tishaura O Jones running for treasurer of St. Louis (and hopefully mayor soon). Financial empowerment for the poor and downtrodden of St. Louis. I'll be volunteering with her and I'm phone banking for Biden!

Annamarie Murphy Jiwa

Sherae Lascelles for WA’s 43rd district House Representative position 2. She is running as a candidate of the Seattle People’s Party. She knows what harms our most vulnerable in our community cause she too has been harmed by those factors. She is a sex worker advocate and has an extremely detailed and well round platform. I have been donating to and volunteering for her campaign. I almost gave up entirely on all levels of elections here until I heard her speak.

Patrick Sullivan

I live in Iowa. I'm keenly paying attention to the Joni Ernst / Theresa Greenfield Senate race, which looks really competitive. Joni has been a stooge for Trump and has even in the last few weeks proposed legislation to withhold funds from cities that allow "anarchist" zones/movements to flourish. Terrible/terrifying shit that she started after the C.H.A.Z. dominated Fox's coverage/imagination for a few weeks, made only worse by her re-insisting on this legislation after Trump deployed federal troops in Portland. Unfortunately, my girlfriend moved to Cincinnati, and I plan to move there this fall to follow her, so I probably won't get to vote Ernst out. I'd like to hear more about Ohio congressional races, I guess.

brandon

Kara Eastman from Nebraska has one of the best chances to flip a seat in the house! I've been campaigning for and donating to her for over a year now. Really excited. She crushed the establishment Democrat (wife of prior congressman) in the primary, and is now up against incumbent Bacon. I think she has a great shot at flipping it. She is a huge advocate of m4a too.

Brian Goddard

Kristen Reeves in WA-10 and reelecting Dr. Kim Schrier in WA-8. While policywise they're your typical Democrats, I feel they bring perspective to Congress that is sorely needed. Reeves grew up in foster care and was even homeless for awhile in high school, so she is a tireless advocate for the poor (she'd also be the first black woman elected to the federal government from Washington state). And Dr. Shrier is the only female doctor in Congress, which I think is something we really need more of. I've been phone banking for Schrier since her first election in 2018.

Scott Santens

Let's see: Sarah Iannarone for mayor in Portland (she's pro-UBI and I'm advising her), Marilyn Strickland in WA for Congress (she's pro-UBI and I did a town hall with her), Blair Walsingham in Tennessee for Congress (she's pro-UBI and I'm advising her), David Kim in CA for Congress (he's pro-UBI and I've done a town hall with him), and here's a list of Humanity Forward endorsed candidates that I hope all win, but I don't know well enough yet to be especially excited about other than the fact they are all necessarily pro-UBI. https://movehumanityforward.com/endorsements

Nathan Campbell

Ed Markey for MA US Senator. He's a progressive who authored the Senate version of the green new deal, getting primaried in MA by a corporate Kennedy. It would be a tragedy for him to lose.

Ramona Mantegani

I’m hoping we can unseat our shitty governor, Chris Sununu, with Andru Volinsky in November. Already voted for him on my absentee ballot for the primary.

mathdemigod

I want to take a moment to shout out a former student of mine named Jackson. He is 15 years old, and is currently the campaign manager for Ariel Kelley's campaign for Healdsburg City Council up here in Sonoma County, CA. He's also currently a student ambassador for Cindy Axne's campaign for re-election in Iowa 3rd Congressional District, but just found out that he's getting a promotion and will be a full time field organizer starting in September. He's literally moving to Iowa as a teenager in order to work on this campaign, while also working on taking his equivalency exams so he can finish high school without the risk of returning to the classroom. He is constantly phone banking, and constantly on social media encouraging others to volunteer. I could not be prouder of him.

Tölvölvan

I discovered one of the DFL Senate candidates for my county is openly transgender and I'm hoping her platform is in line with my position. She's likely a long shot to win the primary but that is exactly when you should vote for what you want, not against what you don't.

Brandon Laks

Related question, is there a good resource to research local politicians? During the primary that just happened my town council was electing 3 members, but had 4 democratic candidates. My local democratic party identified which 3 they supported and made a big campaign out of not voting for the 4th. I tried to find information on all the candidates to make an informed decision. My local democratic party didn't give any reason why they supported the 3 and didn't talk about any issues on their website, FB, etc. In the end the only reason I voted for the 3 Democrat endorsed candidates was because I found a news article about the 4th one killing his neighbor's cat.

Bryant Richardson

In pretty excited for Sara Gideon, then again I would be excited for anyone running against Susan Collins.

Emily Kugler

I volunteered for a campaign for the first time this year. Janeese Lewis George is running for DC Council Ward 4. She won the Democratic primary in June against the very establishment candidate. A NY-based charter school lobby sent attack ads trying to scare people out of voting for her, but they miscalculated. They said she would defund the police (which is true but unfortunately not as far as this lobby claimed). Voting day was also when some of the biggest protests were happening in DC and some of the harshest police pushback. Long story short: attack ads saying she was anti cop helped rather than hurt the campaign. People with the campaign were decorating cars with Shirley Chisholm slogans; dads taking their daughters to vote would greet me with a “fuck the police,” raised fist and a smile; people were making sure their 80 year old aunts had an accessible entrance and would stand in the sun too long. One of my best volunteer experiences ever. DC doesn’t really have a GOP presence in local politics so she should be set for November.

Robert Launder

Honestly none. The presidential election and the pandemic have been so distracting that I don't really know who's running. I'm mostly focusing on keeping Republicans out of office and seeing who is endorsing new candidates.

ScreamingAtTheRadio

So excited for Biden. Soooooooooooooooooooooo excited. Can't wait to see him win the popular vote with his running mate... Let me check... Harris?

Julie Scott

All the candidates I was excited about lost thier primary bids so I'm.a little salty, tbh. But I am hoping Warren gets the VP spot because I swear if the Dems force me to vote for Biden AND Harris I will scream.

Lucy Arnold

I am excited about Jaime Harrison in South Carolina. He is running a campaign based on empathy. He can unseat Lindsay Graham!

Sean McGee

Steve Bullock in Montana, Beth Doglio in WA-10, Marko Liias for Lt. Gov and Ed Markey in MA

Avi Baron

As a Minnesotan who grew up Jewish - Ilhan Omar. Pro-Israel groups masquerading as "Jewish" groups have spent hundreds of thousands on her challengers, Antone Melton-Meaux specifically. A former Minnesotan summed it up nicely here: (https://twitter.com/AriellaSchwartz/status/1288259997231730688) - if you’re a “progressive” voting against ilhan omar in the primary you’re a single issue voter and your single issue is you don’t believe palestinians deserve human rights

Jay G

I need to do some serious research before this week ends, but as it stands, not excited about anyone representing me. The only 2 I'm excited for are in neighboring districts: Rashida Tlaib and Solomun Rajput in Michigan's districts 13 and 12, respectively.

lowmagnet

Jamaal Bowman, Ilhan Omar, AOC, Rashida Tlaib. Hopeful for Paula Jean Swearingen, pissed that Shahid Buttar let us down with being a bad person to staff

Jason Remington

I will be working at polling stations on election day and early voting days in Wake County NC. Since I stayed away from the protests, I felt it was the least I could do.

Jennifer Baldwin

I'm in Arizona. People here are pissed to have Martha McSally as our senator after she clearly lost to Kirsten Sinema. So, this year, there's a lot of excitement around Mark Kelly. Not only will we finally be rid of McSally, but Mark Kelly is an incredibly strong candidate. He is smart, likeable, level-headed, and represents all Arizonans, not just our loudest bigots. And he's married to Gabby Giffords, which is pretty cool.

Frankie D

After Trump's tweet this morning I immediately signed up to volunteer for the Biden campaign and donated money. I will sign up to send texts and emails and probably phone calls. I will probably volunteer for our local campaigns as well.

Marxist Mushroom

I'm in SF so Jackie Fielder and Shahid Buttar (prior to the allegations), I'd like to volunteer with the campaigns but when I tried phone banking for Shahid a couple months ago I really hated it. Have donated money to both. What made me like them initially is the fact that they are standing up to corporate democrats who seem to think they have a monopoly on SF politics and speak for "the left".

baphoenix

Julie Oliver for Texas. Bernie-endorsed. She's for Medicare for All, prison/justice reform, Green New Deal, Cancelling Student Debt & Free Public College, Housing for All, and more, Great candidate.

John Orban

Not voting for anyone. I don’t want to be responsible for corrupting anyone since I don’t know of a single politician who went in poor and didn’t come out rich...unless they quit in disgust of the system they believed in and found out was corrupt to the core.

Ichthys

I live in TN. Local, State, and Federal elections are all Hobson's choices - keep the Nazi, or vote in someone who's only probably a Nazi? Style things. I want to vote for an independent but know that it would just be throwing my vote away.

Delaney Jade

I'll be phone banking for Mark Kelly, who is running unopposed in the primary, and is a bit too centrist for my personal preference, but I like him better than Martha McSally. I went to the last town hall she ever held, when she was still the congressperson for my district, and her evasiveness and doubletalk is so gross... I'm excited for Laura Conover in the Pima County Attorney race, though I wouldn't mind if Mosher won the primary, I just really hope that Diebolt doesn't win the primary...

Eric Herde

There are three candidates in my local area who I am excited about, but I’m focused on just one of them: Rebecca Parson is challenging a corporate Democrat in Washington’s 6th Congressional District. She supports M4A, GND, and homes for all, while her establishment opponent just voted to give the DHS more money after they started terrorizing cities as Trump’s private police force. In his first term, he also proposed a bill to privatize asteroids so that the first company to reach any asteroid would own all the asteroids in the solar system.

Kaleb Bennett

Charles Booker in KY, largely because he's just as mad as the rest of us, always has been, and isn't afraid to show it. Actually seems to care.

ancrapistan

None for me, my OC district is just full of Reaganite Republicans running against Blue Dog Democrats up and down the ballot. No thank you.

Sierra Coomer

Incumbent NC Senators Wiley Nickel (Cary) and Jeff Jackson (Charlotte) are not in my district but they are progressive, enough, and I hope they win again. I'm struggling to find excitement for Wilmington, NC however.

Lauren

Raphael Warnock in Georgia is making some waves & REALLY upsetting Republican appointed senator and also ghoul, Kelly loeffler or however you spell it
