Fuuuuun fact! It turns out, that the methane released in beef production isn’t actually from farts. It’s from burps. Remember how cattle have multiple stomachs and they have to chew, swallow, bring it back into their mouths, chew the cud, swallow again etc etc? The bacteria that help turn grass into something useful for cows produce methane, and they do it in the cow’s stomachs. So when they burp up the cud, they also burp out some methane. This affects nothing, including your point. But it’s still kind of fun to know.

The vast majority of methane is emitted from cows' belching not flatulence or manure. Still thank you for bringing up the cattle industry's contribution to greenhouse gas emission.

The good news is that cow methane is not from fossil fuels. Carbon from plants is just being moved around. Carbon from fossil fuels is taking carbon that's been locked up for a few hundred million years and releasing it. Bad thing.
