Probably worth mentioning that the coconspirator to all of this are the baby boomers. You know that generation born between 1946 and 1964... The people that in their youth coined the phrase "don't trust anyone over 30" that now have little tantrums if their empirically terrible ideas are dismissed with an "OK boomer." Many of the things you mentioned couldn't have been possible without the active support of the boomers. The change in education spending you cited comes to mind. Recall that the boomers were interested in college because it let them "defer" their participation in Vietnam... But, once they didn't need that anymore they enthusiastically chose to cut that spending because their taxes were "too high." And, of course they are also the generation most in support of our nearly endless "war on terror" - as long as someone else will go and fight... It's how they've always been... It's a generation of sociopaths... And don't take my word on that, there are books saying this... It's obvious if you pay attention to what they do and how they've governed. It's why everything is toxically political, they either did it OR were the easily manipulated crowd that fell for it. Maybe mention that a little bit...

I'm old so I'm cynical. I see no difference between the two parties when it comes to their policies. Biden is Republican-Lite (Hillary was Republican-OVERTHEFREAKINGTOP). Obama tried but failed. He also employed policies as directed by the owners of the world. As did the otiginal Clinton etc. Since Reagan America's democracy has withered away. Companies, billionaires and lobby groups are now in charge. Even if Biden wanted to do the right thing he can't. Damn I'm cynical. At least I'm too old to see the eventual return to a feudal society. I live in a country that is a colony of the U.S. (Australia) so things are quite similar here. We had a (female) Prime Minister (with RED HAIR!!!) who tried to make mining companies pay tax! She lost her job soon after that. Mining billionaires still pay no tax. Having said that. Keep fighting Cody. Don't lose hope! (like I have).
