Hey friends. we’re doing a Q and A episode this week so please send in your election Q’s!

Comments

Vincent

How can we change things? I often find that shows that bring present issues into view lack a section about actionable steps that everyday people can take. It doesn't seem like just being in the know or talking about how we should change is enough.

AnaisAstrid00

Do you think that Beto or other progressive runners will have a chance to ever get rid of established republican figures like Ted Cruz or Greg Abbott? Beto had a really good shot back when he ran 2018 but after unsuccessfully running for president, it seems that even in progressive spears here in Texas aren't as enthusiastic about him running for governor.

Christian Salmeron

How many takes do you need per part? You do long portions without a break; it's impressive! Also, how long until the boars break into your studio and take over?

Cucker Tarlson

You haven't found the cure to leftist infighting yet, have you?

Octophant

How many grapes can you fit in your mouth?

Octophant

How do we get the idea across to normal every day that left leaning ideas actually help them? They just view it as "communism" and stealing money from people

Kyle Chadwick

Why is the center moving to the right so consistently these last 20 years? Is it still the influence of 9/11?

Kane

What was the episode that had the most difficult/the most frustrating topic to research?

Robert Spremulli

Question about the YouTubes. Does liking the Patreon ad free videos help the channel grow or is it best to go to the public version and like that one too?

Andrew Stammworthy

Do either of you have friends or loved ones who believe COVID is a hoax or other nonsense? If so how do you deal with them? My father went off the deep toward the alt-right when Trump was elected. He believes COVID was created by Fauci to help the Dems win in 2020 and also that its not a big deal/just a flu and that they stole the election anyway. He lied to us about being vaxed and the only media he consumes is Tucker and ZeroHedge. He even included Tucker in his wedding vows with his new wife. I used to try engaging with him and giving him facts and papers but the gish gallop of bullshit to knock down just became too much. I've resorted lately to just replying "uh huh. So anyway this other thing not science or politics." Just curious your thoughts/wanted to share. Thanks and keep up the great work.

Joshua Cubbin

Are you aware of how often trump/thin Blue Line/don't tread on me etx, flags are being used at lockdown/restrictions protests globally? I've seen them in Aus/UK/NZ

Cory Hammerschlag

Will any of the conservative candidates who lose actually concede, or have we seen the last of that? Is everyone going to just cry "RIGGED" from here on out? Also, of the red wave sweeps in, will they be able to change the national laws so that anyone who doesn't like their election result can challenge it to sympathetic courts? Basically, have we seen the last of legitimate elections in this country?

DreidelChamp

How do you keep yourself from getting tired of all this?

strawBarry

I'm in my early 50's and don't want to work anymore. Would Katy consider marrying me and supporting me with all that sweet, sweet SMN money? Follow-up question, could we also adopt Warmbo? (I'm fine if Cody wants to share custody.)

qrayx

Are you happy? Are you doing alright?

Alexander Powers

Can you talk a little bit about the aftermath of Kellogg's attempts to hire scabs to permanently replace striking workers? That's the first bit of unambiguously good news I've read in quite some time

Bryan Harsh

Cody, I really appreciate your passion for music and it always makes me happy to see that passion incorporated into the show since you're a very talented guy. Do you have a favorite piece of music gear? And if it's not cheating to double up on questions I'd love to hear if there's a specific album or artist you consider the most influential to you as a musician.

Edward Campbell

Do you ever associate with any of your former co-workers at cracked? Besides Robert....

Josh Woods

Love these episodes! What are some ways that we can move towards greater working-class solidarity? Crossing political lines on this issue will be hard as hell but it seems like an essential issue.

Bobbio

Being a leftist in the US I'm always fighting a balance between "we're completely fucked" and "a better world is possible." What are things that you have found or discovered that helps you fight the doomer in us all? To be clear this isn't something that dIstracts you but something that gives you hope.

Man Babee 69

Y’all do professional level research really fast. Does that become stressful, and if so, do you have any self care advice? Thanks for all the hard work y’all put in!

T Gordon Mayhall

If any of you were to be "up" for a cabinet position for the next president, what would you hope it would be for, and what are some day one policy changes you'd seek to make?

Jeff DePaul

I dont know the full story of how you guys separated from Cracked (laid off?) but it was my introduction to you fine folks. How did yall get into comedy? Is there secret bootleg videos of you two doing stand up?

Arthur Murat

Please make or sell warmbo doll replicas. We need it badly

mathew stone

Can someone come get Warmbo? He won't stop talking about "The West Wing" and pissed a weird silly string like substance on my floor. He also ate my cat. Which is pretty uncool.

ThwaitesAwaits

Will the 2022 midterms reduce the ever-present sense of impending doom and existential dread that looms over so many of us in any way shape, or form?

Orion Ussner Kidder

Can you describe the basic steps you go through to create each episode, including name-checking all your contributors? Cody and Katie are the most visible, but you have a whole team we don’t see.

Jeremy Edins

What possible recourse is there for those of us in Texas, who are, once again, suffering through another round of redistricting that will inevitably disenfranchise the growing population of voters of color and newly-arrived liberals whilst overvaluing the votes of wealthy, white Republicans from Southlake?

James Uhl

How likely do you think it would be for the Biden administration to cancel lump sums of student debt? Thank you for all of the hard work, love the channel!

Thalandor46

Philip Defranco recently did a news story covering a series of Republican bills that are attempting to do away with election integrity in a variety of significant ways across 36 states. https://youtu.be/8P4Zn9MKumI?t=652 What are your thoughts on this? Particularly, what are your thoughts as to what can be done to fight against it? Because I'm feeling pretty helpless about the whole ordeal right now, and I need someone who understands all of this better than I do to help me comprehend the reality of it all.

el jablo

Hi guys, love your stuff! Have you got any plans to expand your scope to global events?

Jess Hrudey

You’re very clear on your feelings around boars. How do you feel about animals that are etymologically associated with boars? Like hedgehogs? Or aardvarks (their names comes from Dutch and means earth pig)? Apparently porcupines and porpoises also have names referring to pigs-is it a conspiracy?

Stephanie Kay

So Katy, in the last episode you talked about how Cody’s love of the word ‘cum’ has moved you from physical revulsion to cum sandwiches. What are some other ways you’ve helped each other grow professionally?

Helen Spica

Given enough patrons here, would you scrap company advertising and fund the show solely through Patreon?

Sidekick

Did you use a tutorial to make Warmbo or did someone on the crew have puppet making experience?

Armando MC

Since the GOP is highly favored to reclaim control of Congress next year, what do you think about the idea of a vote strike to scare Dems, mostly Cashew Joe, into doing something about student loan debt?

Dj Johnson

Is Cody-showdy-Woah'dy a big fan of ventriloquism? And if so are there any other puppets? Side note...that beard is BUSSIN. ✊🏿😂 Appreciate all yourwork 🙏🏿

Jphilli

Due to the issues in our election system, are we just doomed? Like you've cover congress a lot but I feel like at the state level elections are fucked. people are worked so hard , its hard to actively pay attention to local politics. So if we're heavily gerrymandered, states control elections, and the educational system whitewashed history. Do we even have the info infrastructure to actually change as a country? Or are we just kinda stuck like Atlas

Autistic Goblin

There's all this anger and frustration going around, it's exhausting. What can one individual like myself even do about any of this mess? And don't say voting because I already do that, early and often.

Nicole S

Where would Warmbo live on Sesame Street?

Kay Mo

Do you have any pets? If not, what pet would you like to have and why is it a lizard?

Isaac Comer-Wyrd

Why election? How can an election work when each side thinks the other delusional or evil or both?

Steve Snyder

What is going to be the title of your new podcast series where you mercilessly tear apart right wing works of fiction RiffTrax style? After listening to what you were able to do with the fictive works of Benny Shaps it would simply be a cosmic injustice if you denied your listeners, and dare I say the world, the pure unbridled perfection of such a podcast. If you did sacrifice more of your ever dwindling free time to a project like that, I would quite literally “take a bullet for you babes.”

Bruno Corbin

I’ve heard a lot of people on the left/progressive side, including you guys, advocating for the abolition of the filibuster as a way of allowing progressive laws to pass. I understand the urge, but I also know that the filibuster has often been used by Dems to block right-wing policies (including building the border wall) and fight against nominations they disapproved of during the Trump administration. Wouldn’t abolishing the filibuster be a dangerous move right now, assuming the Republicans will take back power sooner than later and that their current agenda seems to be to create - or at least allow for the rise of - an autocratic regime? I feel like even if they manage to pass voter-protection laws, the Dems would be shooting themselves in the foot as we can assume de GOP would double down on their tactics once they are back in power, at which point the Dems would have effectively no recourse to block any racist voter-suppression laws - or any other anti-democracy/racist/police-state bill - the Republicans want to pass. Is the assumption that passing those laws now would prevent the Republicans from ever holding power again? Or that it would at least prevent them from running on those platforms? I guess my point is that it seems like a complex issue that has been treated like a no-brainer by the left-wing media and I'd like to hear a more nuanced take on it, or at least a solid argument to address those concerns. TLDR: Wouldn't abolishing the filibuster allow the Republicans to pass whatever bills they want (border wall, voter suppression, term limit abolition) once they get back into power?
