Note: This only matters for those of you who’ve read up to Chapter 51 before the creation of this post. If you haven't made it this far in the story, do not read any further. There are spoilers beyond the line breaks.Hey everyone! I've decided it’s that time again. The first time I did this was after chapter 27, so I've opted to do this around every 25 or so chapters going forward. This post is a quick overview of the bigger edits I’ve made to the story so far. I save these "large" edits up, gradually adding them to my to-do list as I go along, and knock them all out in one fell swoop. That's what this update is for!As always, nothing about the plot itself has been altered, these are just things I felt were worth adjusting to make the world, characters, magic, and story in general feel a bit more solid and alive. Please take a moment to skim over this, as some of the changes add or alter context. Most of them are small things I missed the first time around, a few lines added or tweaked here and there. Some are more significant, but again, nothing that changes the story you’ve been reading. If you’re curious or want to re-read the revised versions, feel free to use this as a guide =)*********Chapter 39 - Metal and Magic

During the recap at the start of the chapter, it’s now mentioned that Folly was unable to contact Agora or Derek and why that is the case. I apparently forgot to include this bit. Agora is simply unreachable, and Derek is a false identity, and they are unable to reach the person truly behind it because they have no idea who they are.

Also added a bit about how no new information was given to Emilia in regards to the statues from the Temple of the Fallen dungeon. It's effectively "above her paygrade", so she isn't in the know in regards to all of that.

Chapter 41 - Red on the Rails

Made the fight with the Bearkin slightly more rushed and desperate. She uses Hemokineses to silence the area around her when he slams her into the floor, a few details added in regards to how she attacks him, and a few other small things that make the fight feel a bit more fast-paced and intense.

Fixed the combat sequence with the Engineer. The fight felt too one sided given the nature of Tier Two’s. Now Emilia forgets to remove the Engineers gear due to how hectic the situation is, and the ensuing confrontation is a bit more charged. Less interrogation and willful torture, more burst of action. Emilia bites the Engineer in an act of desperation (instead of in an intentional act to terrify the Engineer before killing her), and the Engineer dies from the wound. This is the most significant edit. The entire second half of the chapter was shuffled around a bit and rewritten, but the results are the same.

Chapter 42 - Plans Are Overrated

Added a description for Bluebell’s Pathfinder. I forgot to actually describe the compass, and that didn’t make any sense given how important the item is for this chapter and the chapters following it. It's a magical, golden sundial-looking thing, with runes and weird pictographs.

Tiny snippet added following the compass description to show that Emilia still isn’t fully versed in the intricacies of her “Relic Whisperer” Skill, as there weren't many opportunities to actually test it.

Chapter 45 - Bonded Clues

Added a part where Emilia expresses how indebted to Arabella she feels and thanks her for helping her in the Bluebell’s Recompense dungeon. Emilia’s desires to ensure any debts she accrues are paid is a key aspect of what makes her who she is, and I didn’t feel I expressed it well enough.

Overall change to multiple chapters :The enchantment “Perfect Match” was altered from…“This item can take on any appearance the wielder desires, as long as it still appears as a [insert item type].”To...“This item automatically takes on any appearance that best suits the wearer, as long as it still appears as a [insert item type].”I changed this because I don’t want the appearance to be something Emilia actively chooses. Instead I’d like for it to be a surprise when they change and someone points them out for whatever reason. I just like that idea better, and I haven't been utilizing the original concept for the enchantment in the first place. They won’t change often, as Emilia’s outfits tend to be on the more basic side of things, but it’ll be more noticeable and poignant when it does happen.
