First of all, sorry for having another Update Log so soon after already posting one. This one is very, very important though, and the changes had to be made as soon as possible so that it would reflect in the chapters going forward.

Sorry sorry sorry <3

This is a highly unusual situation just caused by poor timing, as it's not something I was thinking about until after already making the most recent update log :(

Note: As usual, this only matters for those of you who’ve read up to chapters 44~51 before the creation of this post. If you haven't made it this far in the story, do not read any further. There are potential spoilers beyond the line breaks.

So, something I’d hoped wouldn’t happen (but knew was likely inevitable) has finally happened.

Specifically, I adjusted how quickly Emilia gains levels starting around chapters 44 and onward.

Before I get into it, let me make this very, very, very(!!!) clear:

Nothing changes except the numbers.

No events, no outcomes, no milestones, and no story beats are affected. Only the rate of level gain and a few corresponding stat references.

A few of you have pointed out that her progression felt a little too fast, and I honestly agree with that sentiment. At the time, I justified it because her encounters were intense enough to feel deserving of that growth—and I still believe that.

Mostly.

While talking with one of you (thank you, by the way <3), I mentioned that level gain slows down the higher your Tier. Then it hit me: I didn’t actually apply that to Emilia once she hit Tier One. For some reason, I was planning to start that slowdown at Tier Two, which…

Well, it doesn’t make any fucking sense, if I’m being honest with myself.

So! I went back and adjusted her leveling curve to reflect the intended scaling.

Chapters 44~45 -

Levels gained from clearing Bluebell’s Recompense reduced from +23 to +5 (15 from quest, 8 from completion & mercenary deaths -> now just 5 total from the quest itself). She gains most of another level from the two mercenaries, and it's briefly mentioned.

Emilia now goes from Level 58 -> Level 63 instead of 81.

Her free stat allocations are adjusted accordingly, but she still hits her 500 Strength and Charisma milestones.

The “remaining 266 points” thrown into Wisdom is now “remaining 14 points”. Same exact reasoning, just less stats allocated.

All future references to stats and regen are updated to match these adjustments.

Revised Status (as of Chapter 45):

StatusName: EmiliaRace: FaefoxAge: 20Level: 63

Health: 32,680 -> 34,620Health Regen: 11,768 -> 12,617 per minuteMana: 450,156 -> 471,891Stored: 900,312 -> 943,782Mana Regen: 3.7m -> 4m per minute

Stats:Strength: 380 -> 500 (1,812)Constitution: 726 -> 769 (2,788)Dexterity: 1237 -> 1,299 (4,710)Intelligence: 950 -> 989 (3,586)Wisdom: 5,627 -> 5,898 (21,382)Charisma: 412 -> 500 (1,815)Available Stat Points: 0

Chapter 46 -

Arabella’s reaction line adjusted from “over 100,000 mana” -> “over 60,000 mana.”

Her level adjusted from 77 -> 67 to match quest reward changes.

Slight stat reduction to match adjusted level.

Revised Status (from when she shared it with Emilia):

Shared Status:Name - Arabella von BysmRace - Hybrid ArcanthirAge - 22Level - 67

Chapter 47 -

Changed how much mana Emilia sends to Arabella to 1.5% of her regeneration.

Why add the 0.5% you ask?

Because 1% of Emilia’s “new” mana regen equals out to 666 mana per second, and that risks cheapening the moment with the standard “hehe, devil number” nonsense that it’d inevitably invite.

So 1.5%, meaning the mana Arabella receives will still be exactly 1,000 mana per second.

Chapter 51 -

Changed how much mana Arabella is draining from Emilia to about~ 3m per minute.

The drain was meant to simply be about~ 1million less than whatever Emilia's regen is at the time, thus the amount drained would still be absolutely insane, but not insane enough to "kill" Emilia outright. The fact that I had to make this edit to lower that specific number hurts my heart, because "over three times that" just doesn't hit as hard as "over seven times that".

Last minute addition I'm tossing into this update while I'm already at it:

Chapter 18 -

Emilia now tries to get a System Update through that restricts crime-based Classes, and the System outright denies the proposal and gives the following reason: "Though crime-based Classes were introduced with the System Update, it is not altering what those who commit crimes would do even without such a Class. Their Classes are simply altered to reflect their already chosen Path."

She very much dislikes this reasoning, but can't do anything about it.

This was a part that was meant to introduce the fact that Emilia isn't in control of the System, and she isn't the end-all-be-all when it comes to System updates and the like. We already know she can potentially be outvoted, and now its also evident that she can be shot down before votes even happen if the System itself deems her proposals detrimental.

I'd intended for this to happen around that time, I'm just a big dummy-dumb-dumb who dumbly forgot to add this to the chapter.

This is just the barebones of what I'd meant to convey in that chapter, but if you'd like to see how it's actually written into the chapter, feel free to head back and reread the section where Emilia is walking to the orphanage. It starts there, and ends when she reaches the orphanage.

Again, everyone, super sorry for the extra update log!

This one is a big deal because:

If I waited until the end of book one to make this adjustment, it would have been an absolutely massive headache.

If I just started enforcing the level slowdown at the current/future chapters, it would have seemed off to you guys.

So it had to be done now :(
