This is a episode where title is spoilers as the title of episode is Ariel. I like your reactions. It been interesting to see your reaction to episode 8 of this season

Yeah, unfortunately I did see the title, but I enjoyed it despite the spoiler. It's why I try not to read the episode titles when I can help it. Glad you're enjoying the reactions :)

LOVE those dance moves and your reactions, haha. A writer cannot fool another writer (spoiler: you knowing about Ursula.) Just a few random comments …I believe love was simple back in the day: simple (but very deadly). Let me explain what I mean, hopefully in as few words as possible. I can definitely see Ariel and Eric falling in love at first sight in real life; this is not a toxic relationship like Rumple and Belle. I believe in the yester-years, people believed they had similar levels of morality, values. and expectations (for better or worse). This allowed people to fall in love based on external features, believing the other person will already have to same way of life, in a sense. Also we have to give Ariel credit. She was observing Eric’s behavior after she saved him. How he treated others and showed appreciation; how he was an honorable leader, solidified her love towards him. Eric also got to talk to Ariel too, which solidify his affection. However taking a huge pivot to Rumple and Belle, they represent the deadly part of simple times. Too many women had very little rights, which put them in scary marriages with abusers. Just had to acknowledge the other side of my oversimplification, to emphasize how the past wasn’t a corporate fairytale.

Glad you love my killer dance moves! :) I still don't consider that love though. To me, love involves things like appreciation and mutual respect, which takes time to cultivate. You can have infatuation at first sight, of course, this is absolutely true. But I don't consider that to be love.

I mentioned back during Emma's "lost girl" speech that she especially aces a few performances during this season... And for me, the biggest one of all is when she tells her secret to Neal this episode. Incredible acting on her part! Really I love the whole Echo Cave sequence overall; like you mentioned, it's a good plot device and it really pushes several things forward at once.

Yeah, the Echo Cave sequence was great, and fantastically acted. I think if the actors hadn't sold their parts so well, the scene could have easily felt maudlin. And it's a testament to both the acting and writing that it didn't feel forced, even though quite literally all the confessions WERE forced, by Pan's design. And Jennifer Morrison is giving some amazing performances, definitely. I really liked her in "House" but this show has really given her a chance to shine and show what she can do.
