This is such a crazy and emotional episode, isn't it? I feel like I remember hearing something about them not being sure if the show was going to be renewed at the point of developing this, so it was a "just in case" series finale with the end Boston scene filmed in case they were renewed... but I'm also not sure how true that is either, considering it's a mid-season finale. Among everything though, the scene that sticks with me the most on a rewatch is the one where Snow gives Henry the book during the curse. Between the conversation about hope, the quote "believing in even the possibility of a happy ending is a powerful thing", and especially the shot where Henry sees Snow in her wedding dress, everything is just SO fairy tale and heartwarming. Considering that Henry was going through the real life drudgery so many of us often do, it feels like the kind of scene you can take something away from even if magic isn't ultimately real like it was for him.

This episode was a rollercoaster of all emotions! Episodes like this are kind of difficult as a reactor because basically I can't think of anything to say but blubber and cry, and then when it comes time to do some sort of analysis and wrap-up, I'm too much of an emotional wreck to do it :D But definitely an excellent and moving episode.

*spoilers for anyone reading* This episode reveals for me, the true meaning of the saying: "There will be a boy, and that boy is more than he appears. The boy will be your undoing." The future is a puzzle, and as expected. Rumple put the wrong pieces together. Henry was not his undoing; Pan IS his undoing! Through Pan, Rumple reveals his deepest insecurities, finds his son and loses him all at the same time. Rumple's ultimate fate is to destroy Pan and face his own death in the process, literally losing everyone his loves. This show has crazy good twists and turns.
