It was really interesting to see what parts of this film you did and didn't already know through osmosis of pop culture! Generally speaking it seemed like you knew most things already, but one thing that surprised me was you not knowing the composer was John Williams (of Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Jurassic Park, etc. fame)... Only because Star Wars is the work I think he's typically most known for, not because of musical snobbery reasons or anything like that. Anyway, I would imagine you'll be less familiar with the future films even if you'll still recognize things from each. It seems like you're right that Luke and Leia weren't planned to be siblings with this first movie. Considering that the series started with a film with "Episode IV" in the name, I wonder how much they really did have planned out, or if they even expected to get to make other films in the series. I honestly think I've only ever watched these movies once myself back when I was around ten (my familiarity with them comes more from having played the Lego Star Wars games several times over) but I remember finding it odd that Darth Vader, master of lightsaber techniques and the force, would do something more "common man" like pilot a fighter ship near the end of the movie. Of course, nowadays I realize it was a way to keep him alive for any future movies despite the Death Star's explosion, among other reasons they might have made that choice. See you for the next one!

Gung Ho

It's pretty hard to find first-time viewers who don't already know the big "father" spoiler in this, which is why I also think one could just start with Episode I Phantom Menace and go in that order. I'm pretty sure that's why Lucas redid a lot of the effects in the original three to make them fit in better for watching them all as one big story in six parts.
