There was a joke in there that you missed because you didn’t have the context. When Jessie went to the banana stand and said “Daddy lost his shot at happy, and it’s all your fault, Opie” that was a joke about the narrator, Ron Howard. As a child he starred as a very wholesome kid named Opie on The Andy Griffith Show. After Jessie said that, the narrator (Ron Howard) said, “Jessie had gone too far, and she had best watch her mouth”. 😂

yes, wonderful “cameo” by carl weathers! 😜 the original milford school credo was “neither seen nor heard.” some restaurants package leftovers in foil shaped like an animal, usually a swan. it was mostly done by chinese restaurants and steakhouses decades ago.

Carl weathers is supposed to be very cheap so in the foil was his leftovers or food from the restaurant. I think back in the day restaurants used to put leftovers in foil shaped like a duck? I've seen this gag is so many sitcoms.

The number of times I've seen this show and still miss details is absurd. This was the first time I noticed George Michael getting excited about getting the homeless person away from the banana stand without making him upset, and pans to him with a balloon. Then in the next scene when Lucille showed Michael the paper about the main story about the Bluths, there was a story underneath it headlined "Bum Gets Balloon"

According to the creator of the show, he reached out to Carl Weathers to do a Rocky parody with Tobias. When he got him on the phone though, immediately Carl Weathers said he'd love to do the show as long as it wasn't just some lazy Rocky jokes. The creator was like, "Oh no! of course not!" even though that was exactly what he had planned. It was actually Carl Weathers that came up with the idea of him being a cheapskate.
