I'M building a 30*40 centimeter wife 1 foot tall recreation of the entire underground world the Innies live in in Lego, completely accurate to the maps and drawings we see as one big MOC made of at least 5000 bricks. I'd love to share photos depicting each episode as the series goes on and I finish them, you'll probably outpace me haha

The exterior of Lumen’s building is the famous Bell Labs Complex in Holmdel NJ. It’s was dubbed “the biggest mirror ever. ” The cinematography and attention to detail in this show is incredible, look out for the use of symmetry and colour as they use these very intentionally- and it’s so worth it!

It's such a shame you guys can't pause during recording because you picked up a LOT of stuff I didn't on first watch and there are tonnes of easter eggs to find when you do have the luxury of pausing ;)

Concerning the “dinner party”…you’re right, this is a bizarre world. And the world is called “Pretentiousness”. Mark’s brother-in-law, Ricken, is friends with a bunch of people that like to act like they are more refined and intelligent than they really are. You know that one person at every party that insists on speaking politics and philosophy even though no one asked? Here’s a whole gaggle of them.

i thought the uncuts were still something like 2-3 weeks away and then there was a comment about august-september (which could’ve been about something else), so this was surprising. my blood pressure’s been all over the place today! 😅

Now my avatar is finally thematically appropriate! 😂 There’s a lot of cool thematic stuff in the background and settings as well that doesn’t really factor into anything except the motifs. For example, Mark has two very similar betta fish of different colors in a divided tank in his apartment.* Definitely meant to evoke the concept of the Severance procedure. *I feel obligated to also mention that those setups for bettas are still being widely sold despite the fact that they are unsuitable and even downright cruel, for a number of reasons. Mark is a bad fish owner 😂

Adam Scott has phenomenal acting range! He’s amazing in Parks and I think Severance shows how he can transform himself into a completely different character. Neither of you called him “Ben” one time! Some people say they think Severance is too slow paced, but it makes me happy to see you guys soaking it all in! ☺️

Allentown is in Pennsylvania (although I'm sure there's some other Allentown in another state I've never heard of). This is my first time watching this show, and I clocked the mountains and snow and wondered where this was set. If it's PA, maybe the Poconos?

Well, it was a total mind f**k—that’s for sure! The actors in it are phenomenal—I love John Turturo! And obviously Adam Scott, & so many others that I recognize from other great shows. I’ll confess that I’m hoping the plot/premise gets better. I’m sure it will given the critical acclaim—there are tons of clever shows I love where the pilot episode was just meh and painfully slow. I’m guessing it was meant to make you feel disturbed/uncomfortable. I have enough of that IRL & at work where I don’t seek it out in my choices of entertainment. This one hasn’t hooked me just yet—I’m not curious to know more and was glad when it was over, but I’m keeping an open mind and will give it a fair chance. I’m going to watch it regardless so I really do hope I can get into it.

I went in knowing the premise, so ep 1 was even slower for me due to that. Adam Scott is wonderful at portraying the differences between his work and personal self though I thought it made for a great watch. The way he holds grief and tension in his face and that change after the elevator is crazy. I think by ep 4/5 I was just immediately wanting to put the next episode on :)

I found it so difficult at the beginning to get on board with the clinical look and feel of the office, those fluorescent lights are so harsh!

Oh I’m in it to win it—not giving up on it just yet. My brother (who is really smart & has great taste) has been at me to watch it, and now that I’ve seen e1, I can confidently say that watching it here is probably the only way I’ll actually watch it. 😂 Adam Scott is AMAZING—I was blown away by the way he 180s after going through the mind field thing. The actor performances are def first rate.

Nick I wouldn't completely rule out the notion that maybe everyone works at Lumen but doesn't know it :) I feel like with this show anything is possible as a twist

I've paused on the shot where the watches are swapped out, I can't see much about Mark's personal watch that is revealing... but my guess as to why you have to switch watches might be if you've got a smart watch, or a watch with a date on it, anything that would reveal outside information to the Work self is maybe against regulation 🤔

In my opinion, it's really more about the lack of visible numbers. I believe there's a similar clock on the wall in the macrodata refinement room. No numbers makes it easier to lose your sense of place and ignore the passage of time.

I first watched this show while I was hospitalized for a few months, and had to keep watching each episode several times because I didn't know if nothing made sense because of the meds or the actual show! 😂 Knowing how you two are, you might end up feeling the same! 😂You're in for a very good time! My first time watching so here we go! Okay, I'm in! Too early to make any guesses on the future but the set up is intriguing for sure. How 2026 to have a dinner party with no dinner...and with a bunch of pretentious pricks. I'd want to be severed from them.🤪 It seems obvious to me that "they" are keeping a close check on both Marks since he and Pete were best friends at work and if Pete has "unsevered," they may think Mark S knows something about it. Since its obvious to me I'm sure I'm wrong or its not that simple.

I’ve seen the show through once, I’m excited to rewatch with you guys unpacking everything! When she left she became her other person, and her other person decided to come back. But we just saw the perception of the “inside” person, she perceived that weird revolving door sensation, but we saw the longer version from Mark’s pov the last time. You see her actually being outside and coming back in. And Mark also said that, you did leave, you just decided to come back. But that’s also why he can’t watch, because then he would see her outside self making those choices.

I think Severance is one of the most original shows I've seen in a looooong while. I'm glad you guys are checking it out! The TV show "From," and Severance are my two newer favorites because of how fresh and intriguing they are. Maybe "From" will be in your future, too! :)

Hey guys. Love that you're watching this show, it really is right up your alley since you love theorizing so much and it's awesome to watch you do so. I hope you don't mind that I will make a slight sort of criticism of your Patreon tiers. I feel like the fact that you have early access of tv shows on the highest tier discourages a bit the people who aren't on the highest tiers from joining in on the conversation and commenting on videos because we know you're already 4-6 episodes ahead and maybe our comments won't be interesting or useful anymore. Part of the fun of signing up for reactor's Patreon is of course the uncut reactions, but it's also feeling like you're part of a little community by "chatting" with you and with others via comments. Like, here i am watching the first episode and i had so many things to comment but I see that you've already posted episode 7 on early access so it feels a bit like "oh what's the point, they barely remember details from episode 1 by now". There's a reason why most streaming services still publish one episode a week and even Netflix, which usually drops full seasons in one go, is starting to move towards a model of splitting their season releases. It's because the discussions online make us enjoy shows more and those discussions are better when everyone watches the episodes at the same pace. So i don't know, just wanted to put this out there just in case others feel the same, not sure. I know that if i feel strongly enough about this i can just go up a tier (i'm already on the second highest, i think) and i also get that you're making good content here and I'm very happy to contribute and i certainly don't want to discourage you from putting the price on your work that you feel it deserves. I just feel there's a few too many tiers and it gets confusing and maybe a little frustrating. I still love the content so I'll probably be here as a subscriber for a long time still. If I do decide to stay on this tier I probably will continue to not comment much on TV shows because i just don't see the point in commenting 6 episodes behind what you have watched. I don't expect you to act on this one feedback from one person but i thought i'd just give it to you anyway because i feel you would appreciate the honesty and the input. anyway, sorry for the huge wall of confusing, rambling text 😅 have a good one!
