Funny little thing: The Sims video game incorporated the personality trait of "never nude" so you could have your sim with that trait and they'd wear jean cut offs in the shower.

Bruce Vilanch is comedy writer who is known for one liner roast type jokes (hence the comparison to Lucille and her one liner). He was a writer for The Oscar's for a long time and the head writer for like a decade.

Yeah, 'There are dozens of us. DOZENS!' is one of the show's ultimate catchphrases. It pops up in my head anytime someone learns I'm a fan of some long-forgotten 80s synthpop/Eurodisco act. Tobias' cutoffs were already teased briefly in previous episodes, once with Lindsay tearing the towel away (featured again in this episode as you remarked) and also in one of his 'crying in the shower' scenes you could catch a glimpse of them. Barry's ineptitude was already subtly hinted at in the pilot episode, with George Sr. moaning 'I got the worst [bleep]ing attorneys' upon learning that 'they can't convict a husband and wife for the same crime' is not true. I saw quite a bit of 'Happy Days' in re-runs in the early 90s but for me this, rather than The Fonz, is Henry Winkler's shining role.

I came to check on that because they recognized the Fonz but not the iconic Ron Howard name from the same TV series who played Richie Cunningham. The gap between the shows seems bigger since it was set in the 50's even though it was filmed in the '70s.

Brazil is the only country in South America that speaks portuguese haha Not quite a few. It is the largest by territory and population (20 times the population of Portugal), so it is the main portuguese speaking country in the world right now and the main form of portuguese (post colonial revenge). The rest of the portuguese speaking countries (former colonies) are in Africa and Asia.
