About your discussion on the very similar first names of the men in the Bluth family: this seems to have been directly inspired by the then-reigning Bush dynasty, with father George Bush Sr. and son George W. Bush, as well as his brother Jeb Bush, which is a contraction of John Ellis Bush and as such the inspiration for GOB Bluth. And the writers at the time couldn't even know the Bluths would go on to be likened to another Republican ruling dynasty of silver-spoon freeloaders, i.e. the Trumps. Especially Don Jr. is so spookily similar to GOB, there's a hilarious six-minute YouTube video comparing the two side by side!
