😐I heard something I can't say anything about...

Tweety

The actor who plays Hitchcock had family members who were immunocompromised, so he chose to do this season separate from the cast.

ThymeAndTea

I'm very curious how you two like Season 8. It's still the same show but they made it slightly more serious vs. comedic, the previous seasons were more like 90/10 comedic/serious and this season is more like 80/20 comedic/serious

Demanda

Stephanie Beatriz didn’t leave the show, but her character leaving the force was indeed linked to the actor’s real feelings about playing a police officer. I remember this happening in real time. Beatriz donated money to the National Bail Fund Network, and publicly challenged other actors who profited off of positive depictions of police to do the same. The show and the other actors subsequently donated $100,000 to the fund.

TLC

The season was filmed in Spring of 2021... Covid was still a thing and we were less than a year removed from the death of George Floyd so yes the impact of public perceptions had a great deal to the feel of the show and the ultimate decision to end it.

Drew Or Die

This season was delayed over a year partially due to Covid. But also because in the wake of the George Floyd murder and the protests that followed. Most of this season was re wrote. As they felt it was too big and important not to talk about.
