I've been laughing so much every time "WHAT IF LUCY COMES BACK" was said for like 4 seasons and it finally paid off

TK Mars

This was filmed before the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. The joke was that the Cubs hadn’t won one in forever, and they were poking fun at the idea that, three years in the future, the Cubs would finally win it. Turns out, it was a pretty incredible prediction by Lucy—the Cubs actually did win the World Series three years later.

Every time you guys brought up Lucy I was so excited for you to get to this episode! ☺️ The story between Leslie, Ron and Jamm is one of my favorites in this season and I think it was written really well and paid off ☺️

Lots of production design teams use their names or the names of their colleagues for props, so it’s entirely possible that book title Nick noticed is a little Easter egg from the design team. It’s more common than you would think!

I think Lucy Liu’s name is indeed in the Charlie’s Angel song. It’s definitely in “Hey Ya” by OutKast 😂😂😂 I don’t remember what “morning star” means in the context of this show, but to fuel your theorizing: the medieval weapon “morningstar” is one word. Morning Star is also an alternate name of the Devil, since it shares an origin with Lucifer. I also know that Venus is referred to as the “morning star” in ancient literature. That’s all I got, theorize away 😂

The prop master for the show is named Gay Perello, nice pick-up!

Damo has been a Tom & Lucy truther since Day 1 😂

I would pay a never-to-be-disclosed amount of money to own Game of Joans. I wish it were real.

In all honesty, I wasn’t a big fan of this season. All the corny jokes about the strange, wacky stuff that happens in the future didn’t land with me at all and aged really badly. It didn’t feel like P&R writing at all. Earlier seasons of the show were a topical satire and observational comedy of American politics, public affairs, and town life, told though the story of this impossibly plucky town official Leslie Knope and her strange coworkers, whom we relate to so much that they serve as effective vehicles for this topic. Season 7 of Parks and Recreation is just about Parks and Recreation. This happens to a lot of shows, especially sitcoms, and I don’t really appreciate it.

Like literally 108 years without winning.. Back to the Future made a similar "joke".

Susen

Awww Tobias, I love all the "what the future looks like" jokes because it's a wink to all the movies and tv shows from the past that predicted the future of flying cars and hologram screens.. they're only jumping 3 years so it's just silliness that they have phones like that, and that the Cubs win the series (I mean sometimes they're right).

That cover in the library is absolutely a reference to the TV show Psych! You guys spot so many things! Psych is also famous for hiding things in the background. William Henry Harrison is a US President - most famous for only living for 31 days past his innaguaration. (not a spoiler, just history)

Weird Magic

William Henry Harrison was the 9th President of the US. Shortest term in history, only 31 days. He was the first President to die in office, in 1841.

Weird Magic

Fun fact that has nothing to do with the show...every US President from 1840 to 1980 that was elected in a year ending in zero, died or was shot and almost died while still in office. 1840 - Harrison - died April 1841 of pneumonia 1860 - Lincoln - died April 1865 of assassination 1880 - Garfield - died September 1881 of assassination 1900 - McKinley - died September 1901 of assassination 1920 - Harding - died August 1923 of a heart attack 1940 - FD Roosevelt - died April 1945 of cerebral hemmorage 1960 - Kennedy - died November 1963 of assassination 1980 - Reagan - shot but lived through an assassination attempt March 1981 Only 1 President died in office that didn't end in a zero (Taylor - 1848)

TLC

There is nothing silly about Morning Star!!!

TLC

I love the payoff after Damo shipping Tom and Lucy for so long. I think Tom was feeling too insecure to ask Lucy out and fell back to his business persona because he's been so successful there. Luckily for him, she was ready to come back to Pawnee!
