Absolutely LOVE The LOST Files 😂 amazing! Just one thing to point out to throw a potential spanner in your case Detective Damo- when the dig is happening to get Jack out, Charlie goes to Locke and asks for his drugs the second time and Lock is skinning the boar seemingly near the caves.

TLC

Okay the LOST Files cracked me up and Damo's presentation was marvelous. I will not say if you're right or wrong because that would be a spoiler. However, for some reason I think you may change your minds in the future, maybe a few times. Now I want to watch the outro 🤣

This show is so great with raising these ethical questions, Boone put Claire's life at risk when he took the water. Sawyer put Shannon's life at risk, and lets not forget that it only took about 8 days for Jack to ok torture lol Sometimes you really have to look past the charisma a character has or who your favourites are and be uncomfortable with their flaws 💚

RA

I personally dont think torture is ok in any scenario.. Also, putting Sayid's character was pretty bold from makers (remember it was 2004 and he is from iraqi revolutionary guard) - just three years after the 9/11 attacks and during the height of the U.S. war in Iraq—yet the showrunners explicitly made an Iraqi revolutionary guard one of the central figures on American prime-time television Also, placing him on a commercial airline flight that crashes was a direct, provocative confrontation of post-9/11

TLC

Sawyer is definitely from the American south and specifically the gulf coast. I was very curious how you guys would view Sayid after you found out his job in the Iraqian Republican Guard was to torture people...and while he says he vowed not to do it again he did. Also do not forget Jack sanctioned the torture of Sawyer. I also love that you guys are paying attention to who is who and who is where. Don't discount the importance of anyone's back story!!!!

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

Jack did save Sawyer- after being partially responsible for how he got hurt lol I think Jack is losing it a bit 😂

Kristin Carter

The Detectives are on the case once again 🕵️🕵️

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

Do not worry about the longevity of The LOST Files :P There will be many more mysteries to come! 😉

TLC

But To Sun (Tucson) being in Arizona was sooooo bad🤣

Firestarter

You should absolutely keep the "Lost Files" open (maybe rename it later to "Lost Conspiracies") and see what question of yours got answered through the show.

TLC

Remember Jack did not want to be the leader, are we seeing why?

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

😂 Absolutely! Can't even imagine the stress everyone is under, I think Damo is right I'd just wanna chill with Hurley, Claire and Charlie 😂

QuasiRNG

Haha confusing Australian accent with American 🤣 ( ofc you might have just thought American living in Australia but I like to think you couldn't tell difference in accent)

QuasiRNG

Backstory Scoreboard: D-2/2, N 2/2!

TLC

I'm just marveling at Damo's perception in the Intro when he predicts Sayid's attacker was, and I quote, "Jack's Dead Dad"🤣🤣🤣

Merri-gal

{{{THE LOST FILES }}} 😁 “Jack’s dad” and “Obi-Sun” had me 💀😆

Weird Magic

Originally airing on November 10, 2004, "Confidence Man" is Episode 8 of Season 1 of LOST. It is the 8th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.6, placing it as the #11 ranked episode of this season and #4 out of all the episodes shown so far.

Kab

This is peak reaction content. I thouht I already knew peak. This is peak. Also, love this episode

Kab

Prepared a bigger meal this time

zammmerjammer

Doesn't Sawyer remind you of Jaime Lannister? The same stubborn pride of "I'm not explaining myself to people. If you want to believe I'm the bad guy, go ahead." Because, after all, nobody bothered to just ASK him if he had the inhalers from the start. They all wasted their own time due to making that assumption (and no, torture is never justified). There's also the fact that, like Jaime, he pretends not to care but being despised actually does bother him. And Sawyer says he and Kate have a connection -- oh boy do we see in this episode that is very true. Seems to me Sawyer has a read on Kate that no one else on the island does.

Jordan Wiegand

Josh Holloway makes Sawyer so charming. Way more charming than he should be haha What a great performance. To clarify something about Rose, she was not one of the main 14 cast members so she won’t appear in as many episodes since she is not a series lead, but you’ll see her again. She’s not written out.

Merri-gal

Keep pulling at ALL the threads!

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

When you guys were mentioning Jack putting his shoulder out punching Sawyer- did you remember he dislocated it in the last ep?

Ambrosia

You are 100% justified (in my opinion) in not liking Sawyer based off of all of the information you have. I remember watching this episode thinking "Sawyer doesn't even know that Sun is helping Shannon, so he's fully okay with just wasting time with this while someone is actively fighting for their life... what an asshole". Even though he didn't have the meds, that time could've been spent looking for them or something else helpful elsewhere. Yeah, that's a very good reason to dislike someone. The peanut butter moment between Claire and Charlie was downright adorable. ❤️ The Lost Files are perfect, please continue them 😂

Kab

The acting is soooo good

Sarah_M

That's an excellent comparison!

Sarah_M

The Lost Files! Lol, I love it. 😂😂💜💜 EDIT: Obi-Sun absolutely did me btw.

Meryl Lim

On this episode of the Lost Files ......... 😂

Merri-gal

I may always remember him for this one line😆

Kristin Carter

"Baby, I am tied to a tree in the jungle of mystery. I've just got tortured by a damn spinal surgeon and a genuine Iraqi. Of course I'm serious." This show is so unbelievably quotable, I still use LOSTisms on the daily, even 20+ years later.

Tobias Keezy

"Confidence man" is the full form of "con man." The term comes from using deception to gain the confidence of someone in order to swindle them.

Kristin Carter

Y'all ... I was trying to sneakily watch this reaction at work, but when Charlie brought out that empty jar of peanut butter and Nick said, "Oh, he's back on the drugs!!" I let out a laugh that made everyone in the entire building turn and look at me ...

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

Kate had him clocked when she said "I think you want to be hated." When she was explaining that she'd worked out that it was actually Sawyer who wrote the letter you can tell this is serious for him because he calls her "Kate" and not "Freckles"

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

I love that Sawyer was initially characterised as a more city slicker/suited kind of con man- then Josh Holloway auditioned and they love him so much they rewrote the character for him! 💚

Jordan Wiegand

Yeah you can even kind of see the change from pilot part 2 to Tabula rasa with the change in hairstyle. I just watched the documentary Getting Lost and Holloway said he was originally meant to be from Buffalo and he was trying to do an accent and JJ was like where are you from? And he said Georgia, and JJ said “ok great, sawyer is now from Georgia” haha.

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

I don't think Sawyer is actually crap with a lighter, he was just distressed when he didn't shoot the Marshall and made matters worse that his hands were shaking too much to light his cigarette

Elias Persson

I’m happy to be wrong here, but I see a lot of comments like this hinting at something that probably makes more sense when you have watched the entire show. This is my first time watching this show so maybe I’m coming from a completely different perspective, but in no way did I ever think during this episode that ”Jack is losing it a bit” or that we are watching him not being able to handle the leadership. Nick and Damo didn’t seem to think so either as they still have him in their love tier and commented that Jack was running around saving everyone the entire episode. I also don’t really buy that jack was partially responsible for Sawyer nearly bleeding to death. Sayid brought the knife and stabbed him. All Jack did was let it happen, then all the other guys in the cave are also responsible for Sawyer getting hurt because they didn’t stop it. Now, this is not a critique directly at you guys for making this comment but having not seen this show before, comments like this seem kinda spoilery. Even in the first couple of episode I read comments like ”you guys will change your opinion on everyone in this show😅”. And ”based on the information you have now you are 100% justified in hating *insert character”. So you expect that my opinion will change? To me that is kinda spoilery, insinuating that your opinion will change on certain characters. Sorry for long rant and I hope this didn’t come across as argumentative or unfriendly. But through these 8 first episodes, purely based on comments, you could kinda make educated guesses on what kind of backstory certain characters would have.

tiramisujen ≽^•⩊•^≼

If it's not a critique directly at us or me specifically then why write this complaint as a reply to my comment? If you've got a problem with spoilers in the comments that's something you need to take up with Nick and Damo or the mods who work very hard to keep things spoiler free.

TLC

Elias, I might understand where saying people might change their minds about a character in the future might be questionable and I will defer to Nick and Damo to make that decision. In the spirit of friendly discussion, I don't think this particular threas is a spoiler at all. Jack previously stated in earlier episodes he did not want to be a leader or a hero. I know it is a valid ethical debate about responsibility but Sayid did look to Jack for permission to use torture to make Sawyer talk and Jack specifically agreed and stood by while it was occurring so yes I think he carries more responsibility than others back in camp that did not know what was happening. In the end, once stabbed, Jack switched gears and did in fact save Sawyer. Bit in my opinion that doesn't negate his participation in the events that led to the injury.

Elias Persson

Yes, no problem. I get that everyone is very excited about this show and it’s maybe not a big or important spoiler, maybe you can’t even call it a spoiler. But like DN also mentioned in the video it feels like people in the comments are defending certain characters based on upcoming episodes and what they know about the whole show. Comments seem to defend Sawyer in every corner and calling him charming while I feel like that’s not what we have seen in the show so far. While at the same time picking on Jacks every small mistake. Yep, I could talk ethical debates all day but maybe here isn’t the best place for that. I appreciate that it is very difficult towing the line of spoiler/no spoiler when discussing such a big show and obviously since I haven’t seen the show before I don’t know what’s a spoiler or not. That’s up to the people who have already watched it to decide. Just wanted to share my concern.

Matt108

I think I figured out the money bit - it’s an extra con. Sawyer borrows $160k from the guy playing pool, but tells Jessica he has $140k, so she has to put in $160k. Sawyer’s parter expects him to come back with Jessica’s $140k to split 50/50. In fact, unbeknownst to his partner, Sawyer would actually make an extra $20k on top of what they split.

Matt108

Nick, doesn’t the peanut butter scene remind you of the imaginary food in Hook?! On most shows I’m more of like a 4 minute intro guy, but with Lost bring on the 15, 16 minute intros!

Kay

The Lost files…absolutely perfect please never stop!

Mark Riggs

So now that we know Sayid was experienced at getting information from people, which would include detecting the truth (although Locke got in his head here), I want to remind you that several episodes back (before we learned she could speak English) Sayid said he knew Sun could understand him.

Ludus Aurea

Listening to the theories is almost equally entertaining as the show. We didn’t have Reddit etc when thus show was new to have these discussions.
