Tomboy: All American Heroine

FEM Fighters Super Heroines in Peril

Chapter 5

Monday night, the Kingsley two-bedroom, one-bathroom home…

What did I do wrong? Kelly wondered, worrying the inside of her cheek. How did I lose control of the situation, OF MYSELF?

Truth was, it hadn’t gone as badly as it could have. As far as she knew, Jessica hadn’t actually told anyone about catching her with Brad. Kelly was able to clean up at the sink in the utility closet, get dressed, and return to the party like nothing happened. Jessica and Brad had just… vanished, not to be seen until Monday morning at school.

Kelly shared three classes with Jessica, and one with Brad. Every one of them passed without incident. In fact, neither Jessica nor Brad even acknowledged her existence, which was a big improvement over the status quo.

Her father wasn’t home yet. He got lucky at work, and scored some much needed overtime. So Kelly sat in the living room watching the evening news. Well, sitting in close proximity to the TV news, though her attention was mostly elsewhere. All she could think about was her brief tryst with Brad at Hooligans, and the way it all ended.

“They set me up,” she muttered. “But why? What do they gain by it?”

Well, she knew what Brad had to gain. He’d scored big time with the school’s premier virgin. Yeah, he popped Kelly’s cherry good. Oddly enough, she wasn’t that upset about it. Her only real regret was his motivation to seduce her. Jessica had surely put him up to it, but again, for what gain? Surely even she had better things to worry about than Kelly’s virginity.

And if she didn’t, well… Jessica had had the perfect opportunity to slut-shame Kelly in school. Heck, Kelly was pretty sure Jessica had taken some pictures with her phone’s camera. Kelly couldn’t deny that kind of evidence, but Jessica hadn’t made a peep. Even Brad wasn’t bragging about bagging Kelly.

“They might be waiting for school to end first,” she said, suddenly worried again. “The school district is tough on that kind of stuff. But once we’ve all graduated, there’s nothing the school can do if Jessica posts the pictures of me and Brad doing the dirty deed.”

Kelly would be humiliated. Her father would be so disappointed in her. She’d be forced to either endure public ridicule, or hide out alone in the house all summer. Two whole months of shame and boredom before she escaped it in the fall. Thank God for her full athletic scholarship to Taurus University.

“Oh,” Kelly sat up straight, eyes big. “I forgot! There’s a morality clause in my scholarship.”

She’d never thought much about what “moral turpitude” was supposed to mean, but was pretty sure social-media pictures of her sucking and fucking in a utility room would be a violation. Would Jessica be that spiteful, that mean-spirited?

“Duh. It’s Jessica,” Kelly said. “Mean-spirited and spiteful are her jam.”

It would be just like Jessica to bide her time until she was in the clear, then start her big slut-shaming campaign, and send copies to Taurus University Athletic Department to kill Kelly’s only chance at a college education.

That had to be it. Jessica was waiting for the school year to end, so she could graduate with her diploma and continue her life in college. Once free of the school district’s rules on “inappropriate” use of social media, she could carry out her evil plan to destroy her lifelong rival. And there was nothing Kelly could do about it, either.

“Speaking of crime on the streets,” Heather Haney said, catching Kelly’s attention. The pretty, twenty-something local news anchor was speaking to the audience as if they were all her best friends. A little annoying, but somehow she made it work. “News 7 reporter Ally Cortez is in Cleveland with an update on the new heroine in town. Or is she a heroine? We all want to know.”

Cleveland was the closest big city to Kelly’s hometown. So the local news people all trolled its news reports to fill the thirty minute broadcast. Not enough happened in Bisbee, Ohio to fill a half hour newscast.

Ally Cortez’s thousand-watt smile appeared on the TV. “That’s right, Heather. Cleveland might have a new super heroine patrolling the back alleys and dark streets after sundown. We don’t have a name for this new masked vigilante, but we do know she wears a dark red catsuit with black mask, boots, and gloves. The symbol of a fox is emblazoned across her chest. So maybe… Red Fox?”

“That is awesome, Ally,” Heather said. “But why are the police so upset? I hear they’ve issued an arrest warrant for her.”

“Well, she’s not a part of any officially sanctioned super heroine organization,” Ally said. “Most cities don’t care, but Cleveland’s been getting real tough rogue super heroines. At least, they expect the heroine to ask permission first before going all masked vigilante on the city’s criminal element.”

“That’s funny,” Heather said. “Super heroines are the good guys. They shouldn’t be arrested.”

Kelly stared at the beautiful redhead. Heather thought it funny? And kids called Kelly a bimbo just because she had blonde hair.

Her mind wandered to the previous night, remembering the thrill of saving not one, but two men from bad guys back in Columbus after the game. Both times, the victims were outnumbered until Kelly jumped in and drove the bad guys off. Just like a real super heroine.

I could so be a secret super heroine, she thought. Except, I don’t have super powers or a FEM Belt. Kelly paused, her “Jessica” problem coming back to mind. So why am I sitting here feeling sorry for myself? I have nothing to lose now. Do I accept my fate, or go out and do something about it?

Super heroines didn’t sit at home and wallow in misery. No. They took the situation in hand and fixed it. They put some hurt on the bad guys, and saved the good citizens of the city. Only difference would be Kelly wanted to save herself, instead of others.

But then, I’m not an ACTUAL super heroine, Kelly thought. What can I do?

Kelly knew that all the evidence against her was on Jessica’s phone, and that Jessica and her Cool Girls squad were probably having their usual Monday “Girls’ Night” party. And Jessica lived just a few blocks away, across the freeway and inside a gated community. Yeah, Kelly lived on the wrong side of the highway. No railroad tracks in their town.

The more Kelly thought about it, the more agitated she became. There was no way Jessica wouldn’t use those salacious pictures in the cruelest way possible. It wasn’t in the head cheerleader’s DNA to do the right thing. Everything was about Jessica, and what made Jessica happy. Hurting Kelly always made Jessica happy.

“This can’t stand,” Kelly said, standing up. “That bitch will find some way to lord those pictures over me, and then post them whenever she thinks it’ll hurt the worst.”

Kelly realized exactly what she had to do. Steal the phone. Steal the phone and save my scholarship. And if Jessica and the Cool Girl squad get hurt, so be it.

Heading to her bedroom, Kelly stared at her closet. What should she wear? Something dark. Black. Something to help her blend into the night. She pulled out black leggings, a black tank, and a black hoodie. Black leather gloves and sneakers finished out her “cat burglar” outfit. She didn’t have a black scarf for a mask, but found a deep purple one that she hoped could do the job well enough.

With the scarf in her pocket, Kelly headed out into the moonless night. The walk over to Jessica’s home didn’t take long, but since it was a gated community, she had to climb a ten foot cinderblock wall. Not that that was hard. Heck, it was a known access point for all sorts of kids going to visit their better-off friends.

Jessica’s parents were both successful surgeons. Their million-dollar home more than reflected their wealth and status. The garage alone was almost as big as Kelly’s home. The rest of the two-story structure, with a finished basement, sprawled across an acre lot. The backyard was a summertime dream retreat, with a pool, lazy river, and hot tub. And that’s where Kelly found Jessica and the Cool Girl Squad.

“What the hell?” Kelly gasped softly, jaw dropping.

There were six hot eighteen year olds partying together. In bikini bottoms. Not a single top to be seen. Kelly spotted Shawnie making out with Paula in the hot tub. Jolene and Carly were rubbing their naked tits together and giggling. Jessica, also topless, was dancing with Emily to a rocking hip-hop song.

“Are they all lesbians?” Kelly asked. “Or bisexual?”

At the very least bisexual.

“I thought girls waited until they were in college before they started experimenting sexually,” Kelly whispered, crinkling her nose as she watched their sexual antics. “Just wow. Those are the six most boy-crazy girls in our class.”

Kelly quickly spotted Jessica’s phone, no doubt a model that cost at least four figures. It was in the beautiful head cheerleader’s left hand, and she paused every few minutes to type messages into it.

“Well, that sucks,” Kelly grumbled. “Looks like I’m gonna have to pick another night.” She paused to watch Carly drop to her knees and bury her face between Jolene’s legs. And a moment later, Jessica started making out with Emily. “Oh man, I wish I could afford a smartphone, so I could take a picture of this scene. Jessica and I would cancel each other out with mutual assured destruction.”

So Kelly departed, her spirits low. There was a cop car, lights flashing, at the community sneak-over spot. Had someone spotted her crawling over and called the police?

So she had to take a detour, sneaking down dark residential alleys to the far side of the gated community. No cops at the wall over there. Kelly slipped over without incident. Only now, she no longer had easy access to the underpass closest to her home. The cops were within sight of it, anyway.

“Guess I’m taking the long way home,” she said, grimacing.

While Kelly lived in a lower-income, working-class neighborhood, just north of them was the city’s most dangerous part of town. The economically-distressed neighborhood surrounded the city’s red light district, with numerous peep shows, strip joints, and brothels. Fortunately, Kelly’s path would not take her through that dangerous district.

The busty teen didn’t get far before she passed through a gas station. Her eyes were quickly drawn to a young man moving aggressively toward an elderly gentleman putting gas in his very expensive-looking Lexus SL. That frail old man didn’t stand a chance against the young thug.

“Gemme the keys, old man!” the thug shouted, shoving the old man down. Then he started kicking viciously. “Give. Me. The. Keys!”

Kelly didn’t even think about her next course of action. She pulled the purple scarf out, tied it around her face so that only her eyes were visible, and then locked onto a display in front of the small gas station store. Oil cans on sale. She grabbed two, wound up, and THREW the first can at the carjacker. Hit him square in the ribs.

“What the fuck?” he cried, clutching his midsection. His eyes locked on Kelly. “Bitch, I’m going to break your fucking neck!”

Kelly wound up like she was on the pitcher’s mound, and hit him square in the chest with a “fast ball.” Knocked the young thug flat on his back. When he started struggling to his feet, clutching his injured chest now, Kelly picked up a third can of oil.

“Fuck it, Jax,” another young man she hadn’t noticed shouted from a nearby car. The car really stood out, being a bright yellow Camaro. “Let’s get out of here.”

Jax rolled to all fours, and then took off like a track star. He jumped into the passenger seat, and they peeled out of that gas station. Only then did the skinny, pimply gas station attendant come out and look at the still-downed old man, and then at Kelly.

“Help him,” she said, and took off running.
