Ms Patriot: Training Aids
Chapter 2
The red, white, and blue Patriot Mobile rolled to a stop behind a peep-show business in Sugar Town. Ms Patriot stepped out and looked around with narrowed eyes. No telling who was hiding in that trash-strewn hellhole.
“Stay alert. We might be able to see them better in full daylight, but that means the bad boys can see us just as easily,” Ms Patriot said.
The two busty heroines continued up the alley on foot, heels clattering. They strode confidently side-by-side, hair bouncing, hips swinging, eyes constantly sweeping the area all around. Reaching the end of the alley, Ms Patriot chanced a peek out at the street beyond.
“What do you see?” Patriot Girl whispered.
“Fifteen tons of hookers,” she said, shaking her head. “But I also see Lil Dawg. Let me give him a call.”
Stepping back into the shadows, Ms Patriot pulled a phone out of her right thigh boot’s secret pocket. She pulled up her phonebook, found Lil Dawg’s number, and called him.
“Talk dirty to me, Sweet Tits,” he answered.
She had the phone on speaker. Ms Patriot looked at her surprised protégé, and shook her head woefully.
“I’m in the usual spot,” she replied. “Come talk to me, Lil Dick.”
“Ouch, Sweet Tits. That hurts.”
She just ended the call. Looking at Patriot Girl. “One of these days that man is going to push me too far.”
Ms Patriot never liked dealing with Lil Dawg. He was a pimp. Minor pimp, with just three girls. And his girls were older, pushing the upper envelope of profitability in the sex business. But he really made his money as an informant.
It wasn’t long before a tall, skinny black man entered the alley. He came tricked out in a hot pink, three-piece suit with a red tie. He carried a swagger stick, a pink bowler on his head with jaunty slant. Lil Dawg didn’t so much walk as strut. The two heroines scowled at him.
“Hello, Jonathan,” Ms Patriot said.
Lil Dawg froze, horror on his face. “What’s up with that, Ms P? Why you wanna insult me like that?”
“Well, Mr. Green, maybe if you stop addressing me as ‘Sweet Tits’ I’ll start addressing with your preferred name.”
He thrust his swagger stick’s silver horse head in her face. “You are mean.”
They grinned at each other.
“As long as we understand each other,” she said. Then she turned serious. “The Biggs Brothers are back. Have you heard?”
He cringed. “Yes. I’m not happy about it either. You know Hank broke my leg, right?”
“I remember. It was only five years ago,” she said. Ms Patriot held his eyes. “And I sent them both to prison. Now they are out, and raising hell here in Grimme City again.”
He sighed, nodding. “So much power and potential, and what do they do? Rob stores,” Lil Dawg said. “Idiots. If I was just ten years younger, and had half their power, I’d own Sugar Town. Hell, I’d own both of your fine asses, too.”
Patriot Girl gasped, and Ms Patriot’s eyes widened.
“Careful. We might not think you’re our friend anymore,” Ms Patriot said.
He winked and smiled at her. “Oh, I promise, I’d be real friendly with you girls. So friendly.”
“Take a cold shower, perv,” Patriot Girl said.
Lil Dawg regarded Patriot Girl with disappointed eyes.
“I see you’ve gone far into corrupting her against good men,” he said. Then he became serious. “I have information about the brothers. For a price.”
“Good info?”
“Where they are spending their nights. Home base. Good enough?”
“How much?”
“Thousand.”
“Why so much?”
He grinned. “The Biggs Brothers are more than petty criminals. They are notorious for capturing and enslaving super heroines. That makes them prime real estate, Swee… Ms Patriot. One thousand dollars cash, ten Benjamins, or a single Grover Cleveland, please. And don’t even try to say you don’t have it.”
The shapely super heroine held his eyes as her left hand slipped into the top of her left boot. She pulled out some folded bills. Ten crisp one hundred dollar bills.
“I’m impressed you figured out exactly how much I carry on me,” she said.
“I’m that good, Ms P,” Lil Dawg said. He plucked the money out of her red-gloved hand. “Thank you. Always a pleasure doing business with the city’s lovely heroines.” He did pause to count it. “The Brothers Biggs are in room 22 at the Sunset Motel on Kroger Street.”
“Thank you, Lil Dawg.”
The two heroines wasted no time getting back into the Patriot Mobile and tearing out of there. The Sunset Motel was on the other side of Sugar Town, so not that far away. The motel was more of a resident motel than anything, with the poorest of the poor living there. Just the kind of place fugitives would hide.
The motel parking lot was half-empty. Most of the residents couldn’t afford even a junker car. Ms Patriot parked in a nearby alley, away from prying eyes. The two heroines then snuck over, coming at the motel from the back. They knew the motel, having raided it looking for bail jumpers many times. So she knew which back window belonged to room 22.
The second floor window was open, since the rooms did not have air conditioning.
“Follow me,” Ms Patriot said, and used her super strength to jump straight up to the window. Her hands caught the window seal, and she vaulted inside in a flash. The heroine hit the floor and rolled to her feet, expecting gunfire. Patriot Girl flew through the window a few seconds later.
“Empty, dammit,” Patriot Girl said.
The room was small and dingy, two queen-sized beds unmade. Everything looked cheap, old, and worn out. The carpets were threadbare and stained. The bathroom door stood open, light left on inside.
The two heroines quickly searched the room, finding five suitcases full of cash, and two with clothes. Ms Patriot also found a map with every cash checking store marked. Big red Xs marked out the ones they’d already hit.
“I think we hit the jackpot,” Ms Patriot said. “Nothing to do but sit back and wait for the brothers to come home. And then…”
“We gift wrap them for the DA,” Patriot Girl finished. “Yay us.”
Ms Patriot laughed. “You are such a goof.”
“Super goof,” she said, tapping the golden belt around her waist. “Don’t forget the super.”
Ms Patriot’s phone rang before she could reply. She pulled it out to find “Police Dispatch” on her screen.
“This is Ms Patriot.”
“Ms Patriot! We need your help,” the male dispatcher cried. “The Biggs Brothers are at a cash checking store, but we can’t get to them. It’s on Douglas Street.”
Douglas Street was just four blocks away. It was also in one of the most economically deprived, most dangerous neighborhoods in the city. The cops hadn’t patrolled that neighborhood in over twenty years. Super heroines did go in, but only for quick in and out strikes.
“We’re on it,” she said, turning to Patriot Girl. “The Biggs Brothers are robbing a store just four blocks from here, on Douglas.”
Patriot Girl’s face lit up. She pounded a fist into her palm. “Let’s go kick ass and take names, Ms P!”
Racing back to the Patriot Mobile, they burned rubber over to Douglas Street. Whipping around behind the check cashing store, they found an old Ford Mustang idling outside the door, and a door that was ripped out of the wall. The two super heroines quickly pressed up to either side of the back door. The sound of angry male voices drifted out.
“How strong is Hank again?” Patriot Girl whispered, looking at the damaged door frame. The actual door lay twenty feet away. “At least as strong as me?” She examined the damage. “Maybe stronger?”
Last time they crossed paths, Hank was just as strong as her, but with greater reach. She was faster by a lot, giving her the advantage. Was it possible Hank had become even stronger over the years? How was that possible?
“Let’s assume that Hank is at least as strong as me. So we have to put them down very fast, or it’ll get ugly even faster,” the busty heroine said, taking a deep breath. “Ready?” Patriot Girl gave a single nod. “Go!”
Ms Patriot charged in ahead of her sidekick. They entered a short, dark corridor to the front. The voices were all coming from a room off the corridor. She raced to that open door, and then cut sharply inside as baby blues scanned the room.
Hank stood by the safe, supervising a middle-age woman in filling an Army surplus duffle with cash. He had a pistol in hand, waving it around dangerously. His younger brother, Jake, stood just inside the door and holding a young, pretty Hispanic woman’s arm twisted up behind her back. His back was to the door.
At first glance, the brothers didn’t appear related. Indeed, only their eyes betrayed their family ties. Hank was tall, muscular, with short dark hair, while Jake was a few inches shorter with shoulder length blonde hair.
“Halt in the name of the law!” Ms Patriot shouted.
She tried to slam an elbow into the back of Jake’s head. The brother zipped away super fast, but also had to release the Hispanic woman. The freed woman wailed, and ran toward the door in tears. She smashed into Patriot Girl, effectively body-checking the pigtailed beauty straight into Jake’s arms.
“Patriot Girl!” she cried.
Jake moved so fast he was only a blur. The villain seized the sidekick’s left wrist, twisting her arm behind her back and up between her shoulder blades. And then Patriot Girl screamed in frustration, bowed her back dramatically as she kicked straight back and up, pounding a long stiletto heel into the back of Jake’s head. His hold on her wrist slipped, and the young beauty twisted free.
“Well played,” Ms Patriot said, turning furious baby blues on Hank.
Hank was already in attack mode. The super strong brother lunged at her, swinging the pistol at her face. She threw a forearm up to block, and got smashed by two pounds of steel. The pain lanced up and down her arm, into her shoulder.
“Aaaiiee!”
“Ms Patriot!” Patriot Girl screamed, racing toward her injured mentor.
Hank kicked out to the side, catching Patriot Girl in the hip. That super-powered kick slammed the busty sidekick into the wall. He followed up by pistol whipping Patriot Girl unconscious. Ms Patriot’s jaw dropped. It all happened so fast.
“You’ll pay for that!” she screamed, and spun into a roundhouse to Hank’s head.
The strong man flipped completely over, hitting the floor face down. Jake was on him in a flash, pulling his big brother up off the floor. Hank remained groggy, but Patriot Girl was still out cold. But Hank quickly focused on Ms Patriot, who was on one knee beside her apprentice to ensure she was okay. He pointed the pistol at the heroines, a snarl on his lips.
“Die!”
He pulled the trigger six times to no avail.
“You’re an idiot, Hank,” Ms Patriot sneered, rising to her feet and starting toward him. “You should know by now that guns don’t work against super heroines.”
“Actually,” he said, and spun the pistol around to threaten the middle-aged woman. The sole innocent bystander left in the room. “She will die for you, and that will be the deepest wound of all for you.”
“No!” Ms Patriot cried, and launched herself at the other woman.
The super heroine smashed into the older woman half a heartbeat before Hank pulled the trigger. With the woman wrapped up in her arms, the bullets couldn’t reach her through the heroine’s shield.
Hank and Jake raced out the door. Ms Patriot started to pursue, but Patriot Girl groaned. She went to her sidekick instead.
“Oh, that hurt,” Patriot Girl croaked out. “Where are they? Did they get away?”
“They are only a few seconds ahead of us.”
Gunfire out in the alley startled them. The heroines looked at each other wide-eyed. And then they ran to the back door. The Mustang was racing away. The Patriot Mobile, though, sat on four flat tires.
Ms Patriot’s hands curled into fists, eyes narrowing. “Next time you boys won’t escape justice.”
