Chapter 12

Ms Virtue stared into the mirror, fluffing her rather flat hair . She remained nude after the shower she shared with Scott. Well, he actually enjoyed her body during the shower, but she was still allowed to properly bathe afterwards. Now he was out puttering around in the bedroom while she did her hair. No makeup, so she couldn’t do her face. None of the products she liked for hair, either.

But it didn’t matter for her Ms Virtue persona. She had better options.

Stepping out of the luxurious bathroom, she found the mob boss fully dressed in a suit and tie. Her costume was folded on the foot of the still wrecked bed. Her eyes lingered on that king-sized bed, which felt so small the previous night. No escaping the horny crime lord.

There’s not an orifice of my body he didn’t violate a thousand times last night.

At least that was how she felt. His attention was intense and unwavering. All she could think about was her commitment to spend a long weekend with him, at his sexual beck and call. It was Tuesday morning. If she rescued the missing women that day, then she’d have three nights and days to recover and prepare herself for Friday through Sunday with him. Out at his country estate.

“There’s coffee on the dresser,” Scott said, indicating a cup.

“No thank you,” she said. “I don’t drink stimulants.”

Well, technically, her Adrienne persona only lived thanks to coffee and coffee products. As Ms Virtue she rarely ate or drank anything. She got all of her nutrients via her other persona. She did have to drink water on patrols more than a couple hours. But after a long night in Scott’s bed, she could really go for a big breakfast.

That’ll have to wait, she thought. I have a job to do first.

Ms Virtue picked up her suit, stepped in, and then quickly pulled it up into place. It fit like a second skin, bringing her comfort. Then she immediately fastened her belt around her tiny waist, closing her eyes as super powers came rushing in and throughout her shapely body. It always felt so damn good. Too good, really. She fastened the white choker around her slender neck, before putting the bracers on. Finally, the legendary super heroine stamped into and zipped up her snug white thigh boots.

She held up a hand. “Just give me a second.”

The blonde heroine stepped into the bathroom again, closed the door, and crossed her arms. “Virtue.”

A flash of golden light, and she looked into the mirror to see her Adrienne persona. She smiled, nodded, and crossed her arms again.

“Virtue.”

Golden light flashed, and Ms Virtue stared back out of the mirror. Only now her hair and makeup were perfect. She gave her image an eye wag. And then she stepped out to see Scott do a double-take, but he kept his thoughts to himself.

“I’m ready. Where can I find these Russian human traffickers, and Ariana, Irina, Jenny, Miranda, and Baylee?”

“Remember,” Scott said, taking a romantic posture as he stepped closer. “After you rescue the girls today, you have to come out to my place in the country Friday evening.”

“I’m well aware of my commitments, sir,” she said, giving him a disapproving look. “Indeed, that date is paramount in my mind, only superseded by the need to rescue the kidnapped women. So if you’d be kind enough to tell me where to find them…”

“Okay. Just promise me you’ll call in backup,” he said. “Do not go in alone.”

She just gave him a cool, expectant look.

“Lord, heroines are so… Okay. It’s your life,” he said. “The Russians’ hideout is the basement of a Thai restaurant over in Riverside.”

“House of the Dragon Thai?”

“The same.”

She paused. That Thai restaurant had been at the corner for longer than she’d been alive. No taint of criminal activity had ever stained its reputation. Indeed, Ms Virtue and other heroines sometimes stopped there for working lunches. It was an older two story building, with the owner’s family living above. She never suspected it had a basement.

“Very good. And thank you,” she said, backing away. “If I find them there, then I will pay you this weekend as promised.”

Ms Virtue turned and strode out of the bedroom before he could respond. She headed straight to the balcony. Scott shouted after her.

“Be careful!”

She ignored him. Her mind was locked on one task: find that basement and liberate the captives. Secondary task, arrest the Russians. And then she was outside on the balcony, so leapt up and flew away.

Pulling her phone out, she logged into the heroine secure network. No one else was logged in. It was early morning, so they might still be asleep, so she sent an alert that had a specific ringtone on the heroines’ phones. She attached a message with what she learned, and the location she was going, asking for immediate backup.

Her message ended with, I’ll get eyes on the site, ensure everyone is inside, and wait for you to arrive.

Her last dust-up, and capture, left her with a healthy respect for the human traffickers. That setback filled her head as she passed over the Blue Rock River, that bisected Nexxus City. Her body, still not recovered from all the sexy things Scott did to her all night long, started to tingle again. So she forced those thoughts out of her head. Wasn’t easy.

Flying up to Rivertown, Ms Virtue slowed and passed over the full length of it. Her baby blues locked on the Thai restaurant. Not open yet, but she noticed activity through the front window as the family cleaned the place up. The front door was propped open, so some of the furniture was out on the sidewalk. They had a small sidewalk eating area to one side as well. Otherwise, a wide sidewalk separated the front from the street.

She looked the brown brick structure over. It was just one of a dozen on that block, all butted up against each other. All two stories tall, though a few had roof decks built up. The restaurant did not. Flying around behind the restaurant, she spotted a cellar door. Really, double-doors slanted up at a 45 degree angle. About ten feet to the right of the backdoor.

It was open, and a white utility van was backed up to it, all doors open.

“Are they leaving? Now?”

Her heart raced. She struggled to breathe. And then rage filled her soul.

“No, not on my watch!”

Ms Virtue swooped down to land next to the open driver side door. She looked inside. Lots of suitcases and duffel bags, but no young women or Russians inside. So she strode with purpose toward the cellar door. Voices came up as she approached, all speaking Russian.

Bingo!

Then Ivanka came up, a carry-on bag over her shoulder. She froze at the top of the stairs, jaw dropping. Ms Virtue grinned at her, and kicked the Russian beauty in the face. Sent her tumbling back down the stairs.

“I hope that broke every bone in your body,” she snarled, and flew down into the darkness.

She found Ivanka in a tangle of arms and legs with Alexei. Vlad was staring at them as she smashed into him, striking his chest with a powerful kick. Then her feet hit the ground as she tore into Lev. The short, stout Russian took her abuse well, and quickly counterattacked. She traded punches for a few seconds, before dropping low and sweeping his legs. Flying over him, she delivered a flying roundhouse to Leonid’s face, flipping him completely over. And then she landed and froze. Five famous faces stared back at her, masks of misery on their lovely faces. One and all were stark naked, forced to stand with their arms bound to the wall above their heads.

“Watch out, Ms Virtue!” Jenny screamed.

She spun around and dropped into a squat, and good thing. Ivanka was swinging a baseball bat at her head. Ms Virtue surged back up, pounding an uppercut to the blonde’s chin. And down Ivanka went again, but not out. She writhed, moaning and groaning. Before the heroine could kick her unconscious, Vlad came charging in with a cry of rage.

He threw a punch at her face, but she seized his arm and twisted, ducked to toss him over her shoulder. He responded by dropping his weight, and plowing into her back. The heroine was slammed face first into the wall, whereupon he started slamming powerful punches to her back, ribs, over her kidneys. So much pain. It sucked the strength out of her, but then she looked up through tear-filled eyes, looked at the five bound celebrities, and found new strength and determination.

Ms Virtue used her power of flight to lift up, carrying Vlad with her, and then flew straight back across the basement to slam into the other wall. Smashed the Russian human trafficker against that wall, super hard. He grunted and relaxed, allowing her to fly forward a few feet and escape his attack. But Lev was there to deliver a right cross to her face.

She kicked up between his legs, sending him staggering away, but Ivanka was there to kick her in the face. Ms Virtue stumbled back into Leonid, who pounded two punches into her belly, then shoved her to Alexei. He pounded an uppercut to her chin, followed by a low blow to her pussy. That’s when Ivanka grabbed her long blonde hair, yanked her back into a run straight into the wall. She slammed in face first, darkness threatening to consume her.

“No. Not on my…”

“Aw, shut up,” Ivanka snarled. And slapped a wet cloth over the heroine’s mouth and nose. “Time to go to sleep, Ms Virtue.”

The battered and dazed heroine tried to hold her breath. Unsuccessfully. Instead, her oxygen deprived body demanded air. She gulped in chloroform saturated air, and felt her body relaxing. Darkness quickly collapsed down around her, sucking her down.
