While (in my opinion) every element in the The Office Wife is better - writing, plot, animations, renders, realistic human facial expressions - it's fun stuff with lots of content and h-scenes

Isn't there already a Ren'Py version of this game?

There is, but much like the original "port" of The Office Wife, it removes the actual game parts and turns it into a linear visual novel. VNs suck worse than RPGM, in my opinion. One of my motivations behind The Office Wife Unofficial Ren'Py Redux was to keep the game experience intact, because it's the way the content was meant to be experienced.

In fact, I'm going to make a bold claim: this is the best version of Anna Exciting Affection Ch.1 there is.

What??? How can you claim that this is the best version?

The RPGM original is, frankly, a bit of a slog to play - hell, most RPGM games are. This version gives you the exact same choices to make, but with easier navigation to be able to trigger the next scene.

The other Ren'Py version out there is not only not-a-game, but the playback of the scenes isn't accurate. The pictures and text are in the right order, but there's elements missing:

music

the correct sound effects

matching fades and transitions

screen shakes, and

flashes

This version has everything faithfully presented from the official RPGM version.

Plus the original remake doesn't have all the additional color and flavor you get from interacting with NPCs or other elements that don't directly drive the story forward.

Plus my dialog text looks nicer.

Still, why do this game, and not another one?

This is a port nobody has asked for. My original intention - one I still have - was to port Bawdy Traditions. I still intend to create a Bawdy Traditions Unofficial Ren'Py, but doing that is more involved than Anna.

To create these ports, I have to create or edit image assets for all the event choices, and these need to be aligned to the art style of the game. Both Anna and The Office Wife are 3DCG, so I can use photorealistic elements for things not in the original content, but Bawdy Traditions uses very stylised Koikatsu imagery. I'm still trying to work out the best way to produce those elements. It will be released at some point, but I can't say when.

Suggestions for my next RPGM to Ren'Py port

I have a few games in mind, but I'm open to suggestions. Someone has asked me to do Manila Shaw, which I may have a crack at, mostly because it gives me an excuse to add combat to my engine (I have already added RPGM quests for Anna), but I find the writing, scenarios, and renders a bit meh. Please make suggestions!
