WOW this was probably one of the most challenging videos I've made for the channel, but also so fun!

Any day with a funky frog upload is a good day

Pocket Possum

also, I'm 100% looking forward to the animation segments I'm a hugeeee animation nut so I'm super excited!!! I'm sure they'll be great :) 🩵

Amiri

Today's video was really fantastically done. Kudos to you for making a well thought out, insightful, and empathetic response to a very depressing and damaging topic. You always do such a fantastic job approaching these topics. 💕

Ziggy

I felt like you did this video in a very reasonable manner. I really liked it.

Maddie McCrosky

Hi funky I’m currently trying to deconstruct my religion and get away from it. I really liked your trad wife video. It really helped me understand that it’s not gonna be an easy road, but I can do it and I’m not alone in this journey.

alittleposy

Bravo! 👏👏👏 on the YouTube video!

M

I LOVE YOUR DRAWINGS SO MUCH!!!! It added a lot to the video and your symbolism was amazing! I noticed that you carefully curated the artwork to have a cohesive theme in respect to this topic (hence the “artsy indie” like and subscribe pop up and the HUMMED outro! AHH you’re just so amazing!!!). I love your inking work!!! AHHH you kicked so much butt! Genuinely would have never known about “trad wife” content (as well as a lot of the other content you cover) if not for your videos. You always take a thoughtful approach to whatever topic you cover and I just… funkyfrog, you are an ARTIST. Like, you draw and did animation work for this video, you’re a writer, video maker, and! YEAH you’re just the coolest! Thank you for creating, Funkyfrog! You give me hope in humanity. 💗💗💗💗

Dex (thelittlestpickle)

You addressed this topic with all the empathy and nuance it deserved, truly SO well done. As someone who was also raised by a trad wife in a conservative christian homeschool community, this was the most grounded take I’ve seen on the YouTube front so far. (Also the animations were flawless, my gf literally thought you hired someone to do them)

Fire Drakon

It was a surprise when the video was almost 40 minutes long

AChaoticHuman

The way the bell KEPT COMING BACK 🤣 I loved the animations so much!! You were def not the only one who thought they were cool. This video was done exceptionally well. I'm also stuck in a suppressive religion and am trying to pave a road out of it, and your video really struck home, it was done with the empathy and given the context this subject needs. Thank you for your videos, I love them so much.

Unoriginal Eurovision Critic

I kinda wish they kept the bell ring in the video at some point, giving us an ominous vibe that could give us the creepies

Ammatile

Honestly this video was so heartfelt and well thought out its such a change from the negativity that many people used while covering this topic and it’s so refreshing

Michael McGrath

Thanks for the look behind the scenes; the animations were a great addition.

Molly Wennergrund

Personally i loved the animations, they are awesome and really added to the video! ♡

okay so, I watched the video and OH MY GOSH THE ANIMATION 100% ADDED TO IT also, this might be your best video yet, the tone was way more serious than usual and frankly i welcome it, the message was also super eloquently put. I’m genuinely blown away thank you for this Funky 🩵

TransWerewolf

Dude, how do you decompress after filming? I'm having sympathetic exhaustion just from watching. Also, you're easily my favorite content creator across all platforms. Our views are very much aligned and what you present in every video is so on point! 💚

sarah hughes

I loved the animations and the long run time!!!

FunkyFrogBait

I basically just have a massive crash the day after I wrap up filming and slowly drag myself through the editing and posting process LMAO

SickArtist

I loved the video's result. Keep up the good work FunkyFrog! ^^

Carson Rucker

This is genuinely such an amazing video, great work💚🐸

Sam Kessler

i LOVED the animations, i thought they were so cool

Sam

The animation were well banger

MEMERIZE23

the animations are fantastic!! it reminds me of this comic book Woman Rebel: The Margaret Sanger Story, by Peter Bagge, i hope you read it its great!!! Probably someone asked you this before, but do you write all alone? or you have a team? do you improvise your dialogue or is all read? you do such a great job on all!! thank you for your existence and your content!salute!

FunkyFrogBait

Hey! I write alone, as for how much is improvised it really depends. Usually a few of the quips are random ideas I had on the spot, but I find the scripting process really enjoyable so much is scripted!

Emma Kitt Fox

I actually love longer videos. Especially in a world where short form content is so popular, I want something to watch that's longer than 12 minutes. I have ADHD so actually paying attention to things can be hard unless it's some random hyperfixation so I like to think I'm working on my attention span, especially with interesting things like this. I feel like short form content is brain rot that's slowly killing everyone's attention span 😂😭 also, the animations were genuinely great. It was a really neat new component to your video and I actually thought you had someone else make it. Job well done!

Jen from the swamp

Go Maddie! Cutting yourself out of that spiderweb is a PROCESS but you can do it! ❤️

Jen from the swamp

My butch spouse is weirdly attracted to your tradwife persona, whilst I am weirdly attracted to your mulleted journalist persona. 🎹 Lesbian vote secured 🎷🎷🎷🎷

Sarah Lanese

I just wanted to tell you I loved this whole video and it resonated with me on such a deep level. I wish I wasn’t so afraid of criticism. I made a post on Reddit today about almost this exact thing, and the mod told me they don’t generally allow people to share their “options” on things and I was like…why not? How else can I have a healthy discourse about these things? What I am trying to say is I love that you said it, and WAY more articulated than I did…bravo, I hope this empowers you because you’re doing the right thing

Olivia jaudeau

This was such a good video!! I really liked that it was longer too. Can't wait for more!

AlexM

You said come so much I thought this was a cupcakke remix

OlivePie

Absolutely one of my favorite videos from you :)) btw I fucking love the clock lol

Jax Andrusiak

Long-time viewer, first-time caller... I absolutely *loved* this video, having actually been a progressive feminist author/home builder/permaculture property designer/SAHM of 2 very young kids/crunchy homesteader in a previous lifetime... the cosplaying for the patriarchy crap would be just stupid if it wasn't so fucking socially dangerous. 'Egg aprons'. FFS. Nobody who's collected eggs EVER would use a pretty piece of clothing to stuff things from a chook's butt into (no shade, my little dinosaur friends, it just is what it is) - even if they are perfectly shaped, pretty little pockets. And on another note: husband is a douche. I mentioned this in the comments for the produced video, but they're worth repeating here: the lack of savings and superannuation/401K for SAHM after a few years (or a child's pre-school/school years) is the 3 in the 1-2 punch women have to face if/when something goes wrong. Growing old in poverty is generally not portrayed in the glowing trad wife fantasy when you're young, thin, pretty, pre-menopausal and romantic. On another note, all these outtake videos are awesome enough to stand on their own - when I'm waiting for your next video to drop, I must remember this. The role play, the extras, the props, the camerawork and production, research, animation, writing the script and delivering the opinion pieces to camera with so much fact and wit, perfect punches and comedic timing... .you put *so* much work into these, Funky - they are so very appreciated, and you're amazing. Wish I could put more $ towards your job and craft, and when I'm not unemployed, I will. Keep doing what you do. :)
