i don't like working at the weekends but some deadlines are racing towards me so I have had to sit at my desk to make a cover for the Solver collection, otherwise I will not have it printed in time for a local event in August. It's fairly standard and follows the symmetrical format of (some of) the covers for the whole series but I wanted an alien-looking puffer-coated Lottie and I think I managed it.

This will only be a short run initially as I am dipping my toe back in self-publishing. It's a 180-page book so I don't want boxes and boxes of them!

BONUS 1: I liked the pencils for this, in blue and magenta

BONUS 2: an early draft, "Vitruvian Grote"

Will the book be available online or only at events?

Tudza

Will penicillin cure the Vitruvian Grote? Asking for a friend.

scarygoround

I'll find a way to get it out more widely once I know what it weighs etc

Dan

Ooh, definitely want to get a copy of this. Keep us posted!

Jack Christmas

Nice! Out of curiosity, will this Solver collection include Circus Windows and/or Author Unknown?

scarygoround

No - Circus Windows was its own thing and Boom published it with the Kickstarter. Also it has loads of page bleeds and doesn't fit the A5 format! Author Unknown is collected in Steeple volume 3.

Jon Sibley

Oh my. Want want want.

Bonnie Smith

you've definitely captured the particular sheen of that material

Jeremy Impson

Vetruvian Grote looks very pleased with her accomplishment

Luke Drotos

Where will this be available

Tabrizia Jones

Hopefully it will be available online! Love to read it 😍

William Cole

Poor Leonardo didn't know about the compositional possibilities of puffer jackets.

Jon Sibley

Oh, please sell online, or via Gosh or Page 45? I can't exist in the outside world

unspiek

There should be a Castle Grote, somewhere!

Matthew

From your website: "Circus Windows was collected by Boom! Studios and available as a stretch goal in a Giant Days Kickstarter. You will never find a copy." From the Kickstarter stretch goals (in an image, so you can't even search and find this information): "A Charlotte Grote one-shot comic (first time in print!) for pre-orders over $100!" Oh dang, I had no idea this even existed.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a print run! I hope the August event goes well!

scarygoround

A lot of people felt that way about Wicked Things too :/

Tom K

To be fair, I bought both the individual issues and the trade paperback of Wicked Things, whereas I already had the first 3 volumes of the Giant Days books, so didn’t didn’t buy them again and therefore didn’t qualify for (or even know about) the stretch goal. My lust for a complete paper collection of Solver will be unfulfilled it seems.

scarygoround

I asked Boom if I could buy a load of copies so I could sell them. Guess how that went.

Pierpaolo Di Camillo

The Vitruvian Grote is kinda scary, she's already too powerful at normal, let alone in that perspective. I hope for a future in which it will be possible to purchase all the volumes of "Solver", perhaps with the possibility of an autograph and a drawing by paying more.
