I've not got a lot to offer the Patreon this week. I'm getting towards the end of work (27 pages to go) on Steeple volume 3, which constitutes Christmas With Clovis, the Lottie/Shelley crossover, and 88 pages of Clotted Crime. It's been a very intense period of drawing, on some very detailed (for me at least) pages. I've learned a lot over the last year but I'm also keen to draw something easier for a bit once this spell is over.

But I always have some old shite I MEAN SOLID GOLD for you in the sketchbook folder and this week is no exception.

1. "Old Man Rodimus", rich in detail

2. "Milo Manara's Chloe Noonan" (for Marc Ellerby) - a real friendship ender

3.  "The Direct Market Is Back in 2021" with Brian Michael Bendis on Scary Go Round

You know, I think that's enough for now. I have more SOLID GOLD but I'll save it for another day.

I admit, I announced the Bendis thing a little early. I hadn't actually asked him. But there are still four months left of 2021 and I think I can get these books up and running.

Pierpaolo Di Camillo

A robot who smokes a pipe, has huge mustache and a grumpy face... I see myself in it and I absolutely love it!

Andrew Neal

I'm personally astonished that Bendis keeps finding new publishers for Fishman At Large.

Marc Ellerby

Every time I think I've scrubbed that Milo Manara Noonan from my memory...you bring it back.

The Scary Moosh

TO THINK that the Wonder Worm made a cameo as early as Giant Days, truly sir you are master of the long game

Brian Perler

Can't say as I'm a fan of Bendis, but if he's writing Desmond, and the Simonson listed on the cover of Fishman At Large is Walt Simonson... I'd actually have to buy that. (Maybe we can just get Walt to do a Desmond series by himself. That'd work for me.)

Jen Decay

Chrissake John, she’s 16!

Firstly, the update on what's coming up is all the reward *I* need. Secondly, I didn't know it until just now, but I also needed Old Man Rodimus more than anything else in my life.

Also, now can you bring back periodical distributors? The only situation where I bought weekly comicbooks as an adult was impulse buys from the magazine rack when I do my weekly grocery shopping. I sincerely miss it. Explicitly going to a comicbook store brings along too much commitment baggage, both in terms of "well i came all the way out to the bookstore, i better buy something" and "I've bought the last 20 issues of this crap it's too late to stop now."

Wonder Worm facts: the worm has a powerful GLOW. The worm has very beautiful EYELASHES. The worm moonlights as a physician (DR GORDON WORM)

Kristina Clinton

I still come back to this and laugh delightedly. Thank you.
