At this stage it's looking like they're going to let it go. Good chance their lawyers will become incredibly strict about the difference between a "Steamboat Willie" Mickey and a generic/modern Mickey, though.

Probably worth pointing out that in Steamboat Willie, Mickey didn't yet have the white gloves, and I'm sure that's the type of thing Disney would sue over. (i.e., "It's not the public domain version that you're using, 'white glove' Mickey is still under copyright.") Anyhoo, I eagerly await "Steamboat Lottie". YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
