I LOVE SO much how Nick's support (and Charlie’s at other times) includes supporting his friendships and support by others! It's so easy to lose track of other friendships when you're in a love bubble, but the way these two encourage and support each other with their other people is so healthy and important. ❤️ * ah-hem * though having sleepovers to have quality time just with each other can't hurt 🤭

It's so good seeing him surrounded by all these people. He is clearly really anxious about it, but he has lots of people here to ground him, in a lot of different ways. To help him rehearse, give advice, give him tough love when he doubts himself, perfectly balanced with full love and support, remind him to sleep and rest to not overwork himself etc. He has a massive campaign team full of people who love him and believe in him T_T

There are lots and lots of sleepovers over the summer! After that, during school times it's probably no more than once a week, weekends more commonly. If I have the time this year I would love to do a mini-comic of some kind about that summer. There just wasn't room to spend time in that summer in this volume - too much story to cover!

I’m fluctuating in my emotions between seeing again just how good Alice’s artwork is now (I mean, to consistently remember and include all the little details that make each of our beloved characters so THEM is here, down to Darcy and Tara’s very different styles yet so sweetly familiar crop tops, or Elle’s elegant updo hairstyle, to Nick’s whole knees up, relaxed face posture…) and to just an overwhelming “you’ve got this” vibe for Charlie. This anxiety of putting your writing out there, exposing your thoughts and dreams and plans, for others to analyze is something we’ll all experience at some point in life. Will they love it, hate it, judge me, reject me, cheer for me, or maybe even elect me?! These are all huge feelings, and I cannot say enough how happy I am he is letting others in to help support him. What a beautiful place to be, Charlie Spring! (And anytime we get the backlight from a screen reflecting onto Charlie and or Nick’s faces, it always reminds me of their very beginnings with those back and forth texting nights😍).

I think because charlies parents are stricter and nicks mum is more relaxed that they would probably stay at nicks for sleepovers most of the time but during the day they might go to Charlies house
