I was a math major and felt the same way about it Torie ♥️♥️ there were so many problems to solve in the world that don’t have any definitive answer - at least none that everyone accepts as fact. And then there’s math 😌 always an answer, always a way to work on the puzzle even if you can’t see it at first. Always a formula to apply that’s like the universe saying here, we at least made this one thing easy for you 🥰 I wasn’t a math genius. I just liked finally having answers. PS I hope she discovers philosophy at uni too - also fun to talk about topics that have NO one answer with other deep thinkers 😊♥️

It's so interesting that Tori left the conversation (even if was devolving into laddy sport talk, lol) to go read over her personal statement (which is kick ass whether she is pretending to love maths or not!). It's as if she NEEDED to go make sure that with Michael about to be gone so much, and Charlie not needing her as much (we have had a build up showing Charlie Spring in his thriving era this whole school year from his role as Head Boy, his continued precious relationship with Nick, his new job at the cafe, his ongoing friendships with Tao and Aled and the rest of the Paris Gang...he is in a really great place and also has tools from through his work with Geoff to use if needed on those inevitable hard days), that TORI has a solid plan for her "out" too...to get to a place where she wants to be (Scotland it is!), and maybe, just maybe, to let herself DREAM a little as well?! I love the way Charlie easily snuggles up next to her, so reminiscent of their younger years....and shares how much he will miss her as he simultaneously speaks full confidence of her presumed success into Tori, "I'll miss you WHEN you are in Scotland." They have such a deep bond that was really strengthened over the last few years...and there is something in that bottom panel that is so beautifully hopeful and full of light...maybe it's the way Charlie is clinging to Tori not out of fear of her leaving, but more out of a comforting sense of shared sibling love, maybe it's because she knows NOW that he WILL be OKAY...or maybe it's the gentle way her face reflects a blend of love, of understanding, and of potential about her future too...I'm here for all of it! And, omg, the way Oliver is so smitten with Nick that he is content to hold his hand (very patiently for an 8 1/2 ish year old) while Michael lays out his whole Olympic dreamy goals...who knew we would ever see such a lovely and warm dynamic around Christmas in the Spring household as captured in these past few panels? Happy to sit on this one for another day or so!

I know the idea is to end HS when Nick (and Tori) leave for uni, but after reading this panel, I’m suddenly dying to know how Charlie gets thru year 13 and getting ready for uni with Nick and Tori largely not around, and being in the house with Jane and Julio (I know they’re better now, but it will be a harder time for Charlie, and Jane might slip back into being overbearing in her concern…)

I have been hoping that part of Nick's growth this year will be an investment in his commitment to rugby and making the uni team. Perhaps Michael will serve as a role model for those ambitions. It would be great to see Nick begin a rigorous training program and perhaps consider mentoring and coaching younger players like Michael as well.

is this the first we've heard of tori (potentially) going to scotland? we don't know that much about her future actually... we know she showed up to aled's universe city premiere, which if my math is right would take place when she's in her third year at uni we also know she showed up at that wedding thingy in party girls, which iirc also would have taken place in her third year (and michael also joined that wedding) so if she ends up in scotland, she will at least go back to england for these events
