My god, the emotional journey he has been on the last couple of days would exhaust anyone, but Charlie managed to hold it together to partially do a work shift, getting close to the end of it by the looks of it, before the floodgates opened. Because seeing two people who mirror himself and Nick so much, living a life he wants but might have doubted would ever be his, and now he needs to make sure things are ok between him and Nick, because damn it, Charlie can see himself and Nick in this couple and he wants it. And he wants Nick to be better. And I'm glad Laura let Charlie go home early, its good to have supportive co-workers/bosses.
