I can't help but see this from Charlie's point of view: "Nick, I like picking you up!" I look forward getting to see you at the end of my day...it makes everything, well, better....I love seeing you when you first walk out and are still lost in your thoughts. I also love the way you light up when you see me. I love being able to walk so closely to you ...I love the way our bodies feel so comfortable, so safe, as we walk side by side. It's so nice, isn't it? I could walk home with you forever... "How were the dogs today?" I love your smile when you hear me ask about the dogs. I love how you start with a "Mostly good," as you begin telling me all about your day. I love this new energy that you have found for your work, and the sense of purpose that is bringing to you. I'm so proud of how you spend so much intentional time with all the dogs, and I love how you are the type of person who notices that Biscuit is struggling and needs...more... of something that you are determined to find and fix. I love watching your mind work as you think of ways to make Biscuit feel less nervous and more included so they can make doggie friends...I really love the way you love, Nick, I love the way you care so much about others...and me. I love you so, so much. God, I wonder if you can see me just nonstop smiling over at you as you talk...I can't help it Nick...there is no place I had rather be than right here, listening to you working out how to help a sweet dog that feels so vulnerable and alone...I think I am falling in love with you more and more with every step we take...if that is even possible because I am totally, completely, already yours. I heard the most beautiful song last night that is so Nick and Charlie coded it genuinely brought tears to my eyes and melted my heart. “Rest of my Life” by Keenan Te 🥹❤️🍂

I love Nick rambling. I also love how much Nick applies himself to helping poor little Biscuit. And I definitely love how much Charlie is entranced by Nick and loves him so much. It's beautiful.

I had to come back to this page. It is so light and full of love. I love that I can identify with both Nick and Charlie. I am chatty like him when I feel better. My friends and family have told me that (I personally don't notice this). If I start singing (especially in the shower), they know it's going to be a great day. I'm amazed at how great you are in studying your characters, Alice. Jane Austen was great at that, too. No wonder I love both of your works ❤️
