Hey all! Been working on a little something to ease myself back into drawing Heartstopper pages. I’m so proud of this mini-comic and I really hope you enjoy it!

If any of you are interested in some of my random thoughts while working on this, here they are:

Nowadays, I draw Heartstopper pages in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet on my laptop or computer, while I do all my other illustrations on my iPad in Procreate. So I hadn't really drawn anything using my Wacom tablet for over six months, and I'd been really worried that my drawing skills would have worsened, or I would find Photoshop or my Wacom annoying somehow. But I'm happier than ever with how the art turned out!

Working in Photoshop on my Wacom takes much longer, and requires more concentration for me, but in my eyes, the result is always so much neater and cleaner when it comes to comic pages. It's also much easier for me to work in colour in Photoshop as the colour editing tools and brush tools are more varied and easier to use. I have wondered whether I'll ever fully swap to using tablets with screens for the Heartstopper comic, but I don't think I will. The result just looks so much better in my opinion. (If you want to compare, the 'Teachers' mini-comic was done on iPad.) Do many people still use screen-less tablets for drawing? Or are they becoming a thing of the past? I don't know. I need more friends who make comics, honestly.

Anyway...

I'm still drafting a longer text post for you all with a more lengthy update about how I'm feeling about Heartstopper and the current state of my workload and the Patreon, etc. I'll share that with you soon!

could you keep posting each picture separately? it's not comfortable to view a bunch of pictures on patreon… Besides that… I love the mini comics, it's like easter eggs 😊

I love this so much, thank you for sharing these characters with us. It warms my heart so much that I can continue to love and grow along side Narlie! Every comic feels like coming home. 💜

A late revisit… but it’s still Christmas at the Green Dragon. Forgot how I love this one! And so reassuring💖
