Like Nick, this never occurred to me. Like, if Charlie went off somewhere else, leaving Nick in Kent, Nick would just resent him because he stayed for Charlie rather than basing the decision on what was best for him. 🤷🏻‍♂️

With the comments about Charlie pressuring Nick, I think Charlie just jokes around a lot because that’s his personality but it might be a way to distract himself from some of the thoughts he has. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense lol. The best thing for Nick and Charlie is to have a honest talk with all jokes aside. They will get there eventually.

And also, I absolutely LOVE that Alice has included Nicks struggles with opening up and being away from Charlie because right from the start of Book One and throughout the novels, you could kind of tell Nick didn’t have the best support system (apart from Charlie)

True. And even though he has Charlie, he needs other people. Like Charlie has really good friends and his therapist to talk to other than Nick. Nick has his rugby friends but I’m not sure if they talk about deep stuff. It would be great if Nick spoke to the school therapist or something

Charlie is Nick's best friend, his person, so it makes sense that he wants to be close to him. He's also an utterly clingy golden retriever who wants Charlie as his personal teddy bear. It'll all work out in the end, Nick! You've got this!
