Poor Nick. I can really see his conflict. He seems to have made his mind up where to study and it is not Kent. But how to tell your boyfriend that you want to study at the other end of England.

The turmoil would be real. He would absolutely be having PTSD from his Majorca trip. This time he’s been away for a week; and he’s considering the idea of moving away. This is a very confronting (traumatic) decision for him.

And the time Charlie was at the psych ward. Somebody else mentioned a few pages ago that both these times they didn't have good contact with one-another (bad reception, only able to use the ward phone). Also these were very low points for Charlie when Nick was worried and anxious with good reason I'm glad we're now seeing that Nick's angst isn't only about upsetting Charlie's feelings but about Nick's own fears of being separated and the extent to which he feels he needs to be with Charlie to be himself. But we're also seeing glimpses of the way forward. His relationship with the girls growing stronger and being able to slowly open to them in ways he could only do with Charlie before. His realisation that at Leeds there may be a crowd of people that he can see himself a part of and that University doesn't just produce people like his brother. And the fact he can call, message and Facetime Charlie whenever he wants. I am entirely confident Charlie will end up embracing both of them going to separate Uni. It'll be something they get through together and they'll be simultaneously excited and terrified. I'm excited to read how exactly they both get to this point.
