I am just loving the layout on today’s page! Alice is at the top of their composition game on pages like this. The way the boys are framed shifting slightly to the left in each of the top three panels and the placement of the dialogue balloons leads our eyes across the top panels to the square panel on the left, where Charlie’s leg points us toward the sparkle which in turn leads to the shoes in the last panel, then the swoop and feet going upstairs, and finally the sparkles lead us back to focus again on the boys and their sweet embrace. The movement in the panels reminds me of the gliding path of a falling leaf. So graceful and enticing to the eye. This is a master class in how to tell a visual story.
