Yass! I watch horror movies compulsively, and there was just nothing right about this one.

I loved Slender Man lore when it was all the rage like 5-6 years ago, and watched web series’ like Marble Hornets religiously. Compared to those low budget filmmakers on YouTube, Hollywood is both years late to the party and got absolutely nothing right on what makes good horror.

I normally try to avoid corrections, but given that Noah's the pedantic one, I figured that he'd prefer it 🤣 you talked about students dissecting some alive - what you're thinking of is vivisection there 😅 Love the soul calibur references!! Thinking of it that way, Slenderman and Voldo do have a lot of similarities, especially the silhouette - i wonder if Voldo was part of the inspiration for the original creepypasta author?

Also, there's a movie that's kind of in the same bracket that I at last found interesting (but I have trash taste, so...) - it's called Grimcutty, and it's based of the Momo panic. In contrast to Slenderman, however, a big theme in the movie is that parents' blind trust in internet panic mongering (without bothering to check their children themselves) is more damaging than the initial meme. Eating Tide pods is another internet panic in the same vein
