Nitpick: You actually can teach English (or any language) using just English. In fact it's more common to do it that way now. There's lots of drawing, lots of pointing and lots of repetition. It's really hard though.

No one in Japan, including me, would be offended by the sushi scene. We love to watch foreign people doing strange things with things Japanese and laugh at them. It's our natilnal pastime. It makes us feel so superior!! LOL The movie "Rising Sun" is a cult classic here because all the "Japanese" people and allegedly Japan-savvy Sean Connery are doing everything hilariously wrong.
