Thank you guys! I saw this just as my sister-in-law started waxing poetic about Jesus' birthday. Thank you for saving me!

One of the best parts of being in the atheist community is having podcasters understand that you need a little escapism around the holidays. Love you guys! Thank you so much! Happy holidays!

Abby Genesis is absolutely a pushback to abiogenesis and I refuse to accept otherwise

Michael Petro

Ooo I agree... didn't even cross my mind... Nice catch

As an Englishman in New Zealand may I point out that KFC has gravy, so yes you can put gravy on chicken.

GhostFaceChinchilla

i was actually supposed to work on this film until i realized it was being made by Ken Del Vecchio!

GhostFaceChinchilla

I dropped out of the movie before the first day of shooting 😂

Uriah Jackson

The Eric Roberts scenes in this are always surprising even if you know to expect them, they're so out of place. Also, Noah is right, the actress playing Abbe isn't Ken's wife, but does look pretty similar which makes me wonder.

Did a karate instructor kill Eli's mom or something? Jesus Christ.

The crazy bit about the film festival reminds me of a comedic short included on the DVD release of Melvin Goes to Dinner, an indie flick from the early aughts. In it, the people who made the movie accept an invitation to (and attend) the Frank International Film Festival, a festival that (unbeknownst to them) is organized and run entirely by a dude named Frank, played by a pre-SNL Fred Armisen. Apparently, only a dozen people ever saw that movie, because the short doesn't appear to exist anywhere on the internet.

This is second weirdest Christmas movie I've learn about in the last two days. The first? Rex: kyoryu monogatari. A Japanese family movie made to capitalize on Jurassic Park that got pulled because the director was discovered to be smuggling cocaine.

Denise Huston

It's weirding me out a bit because the college town near me had a sketchy strip club called Jokers Wild, so all I can think of is their creepy building with horny furry art murals.

"It claims to be one of the 10 biggest film festivals in the world." I'm not sure I'm convinced it's one of the 10 biggest film festivals in New Jersey.

I'm Canadian and I was super confused by why they thought chicken and gravy didn't go together. I don't personally eat it, but it's not weird for people to have gravy with fried chicken, like you mentioned, or even to make gravy out of like... chicken stock, which can be put on chicken.

Markus D

I'm guessing you're a fellow Allison Pregler fan then?

True story: About 12 years ago I took karate lessons for about a year at the Nazarene Church by my house. The teacher went to the church and taught alongside his wife. During one of the classes, the husband and wife started couples-fighting over how to do one of the katas. After that I never went back, stopped paying my dues, and never went to another Christian church service again.

Did Heath mean Jeet Kune Do (Way of the Intercepting Fist/developed by Bruce Lee)?
