What do you think was 2021's biggest dud? Put your suggestions down below and we'll nondemocratically pick one

Comments

Ilan Woll

Black Widow (aka John Wick 4)

TBoneSF

Snyder Cut

Nic

Godzilla vs Kong. It is so incredibly stupid while trying to be serious. It is fun to watch and will be even more fun to pick apart

Kristin

Tomorrow War with Chris Pratt

Adam Pope

American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story bad sportsing and kneeling for sky daddy!

FruitbatStudios

Frank. I know it's not a movie, but it was gloriously underwhelming.

B. King

West Side Story. 100 million budget plus another 50 million in marketing, beloved original, Speilberg directing, Christmas season release... And it barely broke 50 million at the box office. All that talent and money on a stinking POS of a movie. Plus I want to hear you all cover a musical about race relations.

SenorLorkah

I liked that movie, thought it was pretty good. Although it's not the kind of movie that draws in crowds.

Mark H

I figure that will just make it in the regular feed soon. I suggested it a couple months ago.

Doom

6 underground. A Michael Bay, 150 mil creation. In the second scene, a 17 minute car chase, you have more insane driving than any FF movies. You have cursing nuns, a surgery in a moving car, an eye ball and an optic nerve skit, a mime, a discussion of David’s penis size (including comparisons), a crucifix displayed about 20 times, a death by fork lift, and just loads of insanity. To top it all off, they discuss “family” more than Vin does.. the official reason the movie didn’t go franchise is because it didn’t have enough of a cultural impact.. someone was full of themselves, lol

Mark H

I’m so sad reading this list so far. I haven’t watched many of these yet, and I thought they were supposed to be better.

Ryan Patrick Conway

I gotta vote Music. It’s just a nightmare and downright insulting

You can just think of me as That One Guy

The entire year? Nah, I can't back that up - I got a new job and a new relationship out of it. So, Red Notice; the most bizarrely unaffecting star vehicle I saw this year. Three A-Listers playing characters crafted for their skills that somehow landed with all the grace and appeal of a wet shit.

Scoop Bucky

Space Jam 2 was pretty awful

TBoneSF

Yeah but if Warner Bros got two bites at the apple for that crappy movie, why can't GAM?

Sarvis

I was responsible and stayed away from theaters. Mortal Kombat really sucked though. How about that one?

Kurt Montandon

You'd think it was made by DC. It just had that feel to it.

Sai Like Sigh

If it can't be Music then it should be The Misfits by Renny Harlin

StephandCholeraNotChloe

The new Matrix movie. I can't really remember any of it anymore even. That means something, I feel like.

Ted Meadows

Check out Unhinged…Russell Crowe has severe road rage

steven burritt

"coming 2 america", "dianna the musical", or (never watched) "infinite" for great marky mark impression.

Ky

Trump surviving Covid.

Just another fake name

I'm going to have to go with Eternals. It's like somebody at marvel heard the snyder cut was popular and decided to make a DC version of a marvel movie. Plus the director actually said she was inspired by Zach Snyder, so it was always going to suck.

Dreamcrusher

I saw Infinite (2021) with Mark Walberg recently which is an amazingly stupid trainwreck. Also, Cosmic Sin (2021) with Bruce Willis is Battlefield Earth levels of bad. Both of those sci-fi movies are good choices.

FruitbatStudios

YES. Ablism so bad it could literally injure people, plus garbage filmmaking on top.

Mark H

My god, looking through the list on IMDB, I see that you’ve already done several of the worst. Here are some to consider: The Misfits. Thunder Force. Music. Silo.

Michael Colon

Matrix Resurrections Oh man. Look I actually liked the movie. But... it was also... kinda trash? 😬

Mark H

Two votes! Even my kids couldn’t sit through it.

Mark H

And it’s such disjointed nonsense, too!

Mark H

Silo is about a kid who falls into a grain silo. End of summary.

HazeWulf Demonic

I only want yall to do Music because all of you know that Anna will be the guest masochist and she will hate it! (I haven't seen the movie and don't plan to, but I just want to hear Anna rage about the one thing she has the most passion for, (besides her son) Eli Bethesda Bos.... Music... It's Music!)

Dustin Hanson

Venom, Let there be Carnage. I love Eli ranting about comics and Heath and Noah just trying to keep up.

Benjamin Turner

Dear Evan Hansen, not just because it's horrific but I need to see Noah's reaction to the plot.

Dexter

Matrix 4. Don't tell me that the song Power of Love from Back to the Future didn't start playing in your head during the Neo/Trinity motorcycle chase.

Sam Schwalbach

Just gonna throw "Malignant" out there.

Michelle C

Malignant was a delightful viewing experience. It was batshit, but in a good and (I think, at least) self-aware way.

Kurt Montandon

I thought Malignant was hilarious - it knew exactly what it was doing.

Kurt Montandon

Already did it, part of the main show - Episode 288.

Daniel the-vegetarian-blacksmith Sullivan

That movie was what I imagined when my friend described Aliens to me as a kid who couldn't watch R rated movies. The actual plot is just a string of plot holes stitched together poorly.

GrassyknollMan

Matrix 4 was trash and deserves to be thrown into the dumpster fire that was 2020 and 2021

Curby Dickens

Another vote for Dear Evan Hansen.

Esteban

Thunder Force was probably the biggest flop

tronvillain

Nah, Thunder Force was pretty fun and had decent views.

tronvillain

Probably Dear Evan Hansen, but I'd also love to hear a review of Snyder's Army of the Dead or even Venom: Let There be Carnage (not actually terrible, but still fun to hear).

Mike Groff

Dear Evan Hansen Eternals

Steve Chaput

The Eternals and Army of the Dead were both disappointments. Dune might have been worse.

Julien

Eternals

Birder Stuart

I thought No Time To Die was at most ‘meh’.

Julie Wine&Reason

After seeing all the comments, I think I have to hate-watch Music now. Damn it.

Beau Hart

A Castle for Christmas was pretty terrible. Infinite (starring Marky Mark!) needs to be inflicted on Eli. Also Chaos Walking and Cosmic Sin were both atrocious.

Joseph Kubal

I didn't really see any movies this last year, but my opinion is just as valid..... Army of the dead because anything Snyder touches is awful. Can't be good, impossible.

Andrew H

King of bad takes right there.

Eric Johnson

ME YOU MADNESS! - 21% on Rotten Tomatoes... - American Psycho female hedge fund manager versus bo-hunk car thief love interest in Miami - Written and directed by Louise Linton, wife of Steven Mnuchin

By any other name

Another vote for Dear Evan Hansen, might be a bit challenging to make comedic though.

Brady Thompson

Another vote for The Tomorrow War, so horribly bad!!

mnstr0

Dear Evan Hansen

Nolan B.

Terrible, but was released in 2019.

Nolan B.

The Matrix 4, holy hell was that unintentionally, hilariously bad.

Jason Ley

Can we nominate Wheel of Time, despite it being a series? Imagine a coprophagic dachshund with a penchant for Tolkien cosplay just fucking eating its own body weight in feces and then shitting out the plot of Lord of the Rings—but made out of shit, that it then consumes and excretes again and again—an ouroboros of loose excrement spraying you in the face, forever.

Xeciash Vega

The Tomorrow War, the plot alone warrants an episode.

antman

Ernest goes to camp

Windy City Roger

This is not the worst of 2021, but I was relistening to the first GAM bonus Batman v Superman, and Eli noted that they needed to do Batman the Dark Knight Rises and I am ready for some Bane and Batman voices, and some excellent scetches. Perhaps it's the February or March bonus one as a lead in to the new Batman movie!?

David

The new matrix. Utter garbage

Daniel Segal

Mortal Kombat was just unfortunate.

Amanda Horne

Was Music really 2021? It feels so long ago! Definitely Music. It's clearly the worst film and also fun to rage about.

Antonio A Barroso

Music. My wife is on the autism spectrum and this movie was easily the most absurd thing she encountered this year.

Godless Goth

I read a synopsis, thought it was neat, then saw Chris Pratt and thought "mmmmpass it's probably a train wreck." Glad to know I guessed right.

Mark H

Controversial take: Lovecraft country. I desperately wanted to like this show. It has such an interesting premise. Great actors. Big budgets. A fantastic director. And it’s practically unwatchable. It completely falls apart after the first episode and becomes an anthology that somehow makes black suffering seem corny (a transplanted baby head?!) And yes, I know it’s not a movie.

lf

I didn't see it, but the trailers and plot summaries I heard, made "Dear Evan Hansen" seem like manipulative garbage.

Tori Jordan

C or D list horror movies are really almost too easy to pick on, but there’s a sweet “Jewish = mystical, and by mystical we mean murdery” trashy scary movie called “Dybbuk” on Amazon prime right now.

Lane woods

Home sweet home alone. A home alone remake

IceBrid10

Enchanto mainly for being about an enchanted house forcing a family to forgive and accept possibly abusive grandma. At least according to the bits and pieces I saw at xmas. Sure looks pretty though, shame the writing keeps letting the animation down.

Mark H

Nah! The house didn’t do anything like that. The house (and magic) was dying BECAUSE the grandma was too controlling.

IceBrid10

I dunno, I wasn't paying much attention to it and it was very unclear that was the case. I find myself wanting to like the recent disney animation more than I do and dunno why. its beatiful antimation but the writing is just kinda meh. Too much self decpercation yet too far into the "idiot plot"

Steve Chaput

Toss up between Dune and The Eternals. It’s too easy to bash small budget stuff
