This week, we sucker Marsh back yet again to review a movie that asks the age old question, "which is worse, a terrorist or a missionary?" ...and gets the answer wrong. Also, it's where we announce our upcoming NYC show in December. So if you wanna grab tickets before the rush, follow this link.

Damn. Wrong coast again. Guess I’ll keep throwing some pennies into my platinum night ticket fund. Excited for when I get to use it and jealous of you lucky east coast folks. ♥️

Moochicken!!!!

I'm hoping for a return to Seattle myself, also shooting for platinum night 😁 I hope they come to your area one day💖

“Hated by the king” is a privileged place to be in modern times. Previously one only experienced that hatred for a short while

Michael Marshall, the project director at the Good Thinking Society, said: “This news is sadly no surprise, given how routinely Prince Charles has used his royal platform to advocate for an anti-science position when it comes to homeopathy, but it is obscene to think that the UK’s next head of state believes this is an appropriate issue to use his considerable public profile to promote. “We have been reminded only recently that plenty of homeopaths claim to be able to treat autism and discourage vaccinations. If Prince Charles wants to have a genuine positive effect on the health of the nation he intends to one day rule, he should side against those who offer dangerously misleading advice, rather than fighting their corner.” https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/jun/25/prince-charles-criticised-continuing-promote-homeopathy

Is Heath dead? I really hope Heath is still alive.

Is the Hans Niemann chess cheating scandal really so widely known that Eli put it in a master class ad? Oh, and for anyone who hasn't heard, yes, a chess grand master was recently accused of cheating using vibrating anal beads. That is not a joke. Which I think technically means Eli didn't write a joke for the ad.

Total Absolutism

I believe he's also skeptic of several years.

Mark H

He lost a lot of blood after he ripped his penis off.

Mark H

I mean, he was accused of using anal beads by Elon Musk, so maybe he just had a good day.

GodAwful

He's just on a really GOOD vacation. He's OK (as far as his penis goes)

I love when you guys cover old movies. Newer Christian movies are often of either a Hallmark TV movie's boring, kind of polished quality or home movie-level while the ones from the '90s and earlier tend to be shitty in that great B-movie or exploitation flick way.

Birder Stuart

I never normally listen to the ads so I’m glad your comment prompted me to listen this week!

Two notes: first, as a librarian Marsh’s Dewey decimal joke made me cackle. Second, as an “old”, I had a boyfriend who had a water bed in the late 90s. Sleeping with two people on one of those things is not among my fondest memories. Sex was…interesting.

Mark H

You’re…checking up on his penis? Heck of a business model you guys have

Scotticus Maximus

Is it just me, or do the ads in the PIAT family almost always seem to have the line "I (person) personally endorse (product)" lately?

Total Absolutism

They made a joke about it in one of the ad read segments at some point? Apparently some advertiser didn't think that their endorsements were personal enough, so they now seem to be engaging in some malicious compliance.

Kespos

I’ve listened to this episode 2x and have no idea what this film is

Nicolette

To be fair, malicious compliance is the best kind. Especially since “Noah Lugeons” is a pseudonym. I can still hear the sarcasm in the line though. These guys make me happy

Markus D

Now I'm curious if it could be "good" interesting or just "challenging" interesting.

Deadeye Nick

Something for flyover country?

Deadeye Nick

GODDAMMIT! Waterbeds are the finest furniture ever invented. And they're not that challenging. I went through two entire pregancies sleeping on a waterbed. The challenge is cat claws, and weird dogs who manage to unplg the heater. Waking up in the middle of the night on a cold waterbed is a special kind of hell. But otherwise they're PERFECT!

"Eat the rich Burn it all down Where are all the bombs Give me a suitcase" - Michael Marshall, 2019 Skeptic of the year I would buy this shirt!

Markus D

I think that the fact that you need a heater for it shows that they are indeed not perfect and probably partially explains their downfall in popularity.
