i dont get why some find fantasy confusing. it is a constructed world and its fun to read the lore. i rather read fantasy than any books that deal with rerality. also i rather read tolkien and conan than urban fantasy.

How did they not mention that Ophelius used Eli’s Satan voice in the movie? It sounded EXACTLY like Eli portraying Satan.

So fun fact around the 20:00 mark with the musical number, the performer owns their singing voice in the song according to Japanese law. Meaning if the cult didn't overdub the song and didn't get paid permission to use their voice, the cult could be sued by the performer.

As a lifelong lover of mythology and classic anime/tokusatsu, the degree to which I can see that the founder of HS is just riffing on the barely remembered fragments of his childhood is inspiring and infuriating. Someone tell them Atragon is actually a HS movie and see if they can spot the difference

Fun localization fact that just popped into my mind at the start of this episode: It’s entirely possible that the dub and the subtitles aren’t the same because the subtitles are a translation of the spoken Japanese in the movie without regard to timing of the audio. Typically, a responsible company would do captions for the dub as a separate track, but we’re talking about the Happy Science Cult here…

Fun Fun Fact about HSC, The "mythology" around the cult leader and their wife getting together being destined kind of falls flat when the wife divorces him and exposes the cults true numbers (about 30,000...still too much) and their son puts out youtube videos bashing the cult.

Tangent, but the part of the Theseus myth that always bothered me the most: after she betrays her father, aids in the murder of her brother, and flees her homeland all to help Theseus, Ariadne gets left on an island by "accident", abandoned by Theseus.
